Shrek-Themed DLC Announced For PowerWash Simulator

Despite the perpetrator(s) and the motive being unknown, an ogre’s swamp is in need of considerable hosing down. Futurlab’s latest upcoming collab is indeed stopping by a DreamWorks world sometime in the near future.

PowerWash Simulator will be receiving a Shrek-themed DLC, with the exact release date (other than coming in Fall 2024) being kept under wraps at the moment. As medieval powerwashers in shining armor, players will be able to clean up five locations in the Shrek world including the Dragon’s Lair and Shrek’s Swamp home itself. The other three locations are left to be announced for another time (via Push Square).

As if the collab wasn’t strange or unexpected enough, one may wonder two possible questions after watching the below announcement trailer: Who would come in and make a serious mess in Shrek’s home? or: Why would Shrek want his home to be hosed down? Even ComicBook commented on rainbow glitter’s appearance all over Shrek’s home, considering he’s an ogre who normally likes filth.

It is also ComicBook that speculates the Shrek-themed DLC could get priced around $7.99 just as past PowerWash Simulator DLCs were. If the upcoming pack will be free as opposed to paid, that remains to be seen as well.

What do you think? Do you plan on picking up the Shrek Special Pack, or will you stay Far, Far Away from this collab instead? Let us know below!

New Indiana Jones Game Sees Trailer On PlayStation Channel

The upcoming MachineGames Indiana Jones title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, is coming to PlayStation with a trailer to boot.

The game saw its Gamescom trailer drop on PlayStation’s YouTube channel, cementing its fate as a timed exclusive to Xbox with a release later this year and its PlayStation port coming sometime in spring 2025.

Its release on PlayStation 5 shouldn’t be that shocking. It seems Microsoft is now keenly aware that Xbox is not able to sustain itself with platform exclusives alone. A trio of previously Xbox exclusive games released to the PS5 earlier this year to a good deal of success.

Sony’s Keeping Tabs On Handheld Market

With the runaway success of the PlayStation Portal still fresh in Sony’s minds, it seems they’re keeping tabs on the handheld market. It’s not that surprising, though, we should take it all with a huge grain of salt.

Insider Tom Henderson, who has a pretty solid track record, took to Twitter to claim that Sony is “paying close attention” to the handheld market. This, of course, brings hope that Sony will return to the handheld market, which it’s long-since abandoned since the (financial) failure that was the Vita.

The PlayStation Portal was kind of a weird peripheral for the PS5 and its success was even weirder, topping hardware charts, including in the UK and Japan as well as outselling the Xbox. Truly, despite being a Remote Play device, it’s stuck with PlayStation gamers.

It is worth pointing out that rumors of a “Vita 2” have bubbled to the top. Here’s hoping for Sony to properly return to the handheld market.

Concord Isn’t Doing So Hot

Firewalk Studios’ live service romp, Concord, appears to be lagging behind the expected number we’re Sony had in mind. Despite promising previews, people just aren’t convinced.

Launching earlier this week after its showcase at the May State of Play, Concord debuted to less 700 people, based on SteamDB, since PlayStation doesn’t share that sort of data. We can’t say we’re that surprised as the game didn’t cement a positive path for itself as a premium product competing with freemium products and what many felt was no soul. Then again, at least it doesn’t have a Battle Pass.

This proper debut, which should’ve been at least a couple thousand people was actually less than its beta, which only fostered a little over 2,000 players. This severe lack of interest definitely doesn’t bode well for Sony’s latest attempt to enter the live service market.

As it stands, the game won’t be getting proper content updates until October, so there’s a period for it to just sit stagnant. Hopefully, the game can turn this around and become a tentpole for PlayStation, but unless its numbers on PS5 are absolutely phenomenal, we can’t see them coming back from this.

PlayStation Stars Changes Policies

PlayStation Stars

Sony is changing policies surrounding its free-to-join PlayStation Stars program. These changes will definitely not sit right with everyone.

Emails have been sent out to members of the program prompting people to sign into the PS App or visit the website as some conditions have changed. Points will soon have an expiry date of 13 months at the time of them entering your account, with points earned before October 24, 2024 being redeemable for 25 months.

Additionally, eligible purchases have altered, as well. Originally, PlayStation Stars members could earn points with initial or reoccurring PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Now, though, by March 1, 2025, this will no longer be the case. This is likely really bitter news as PlayStation Plus isn’t really as cheap as it used to be.

Sony is warning members that they need to agree to these new terms or else they’ll be considered a “canceled member” until they agree with them.
