Sony has already announced new sequels for Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, and Sly Cooper–which are all scheduled to ship for the PS2 later in the year.
Late Monday, developer Naughty Dog revealed that a game featuring Daxter, from Jak & Daxter, is currently in development for the PSP handheld and scheduled for release alongside the upcoming PS2 Jak X game.
Surprisingly, Daxter PSP won't be a racing game (like Jak X), but will be a traditional action-adventure game. Nothing else about the game has been revealed, except that Daxter PSP and Jak X PS2 will offer connectivity links that will allow characters and objects from one game to be downloaded into the other. For instance, characters from Daxter PSP can be transfered into Jak X as new race vehicles.
Daxter PSP is currently being developed by Ready At Dawn Studios, which was formed by former employees of Naughty Dog and Blizzard.
