Magazine Issues New Dissidia Details

The Party is in only a few days time, but Square-Enix has been busy with the announcements before the festivities. One of the most recent unveilings was Final Fantasy Dissidia for the PSP. It likely made PSP owners jump a few feet in the air, and now, "Jump" is gonna make you "jump" again…no, really.

Jump Magazine has published more than a few details on Dissidia , and it appears this one is the perfect title for Final Fantasy fans. We knew the game was created specifically for the 20th Anniversary of the franchise, and that's even more obvious now: characters from previous installments will make an appearance, and while we don't know them all, Jump outlined three. One is the Warrior of Light from the original Final Fantasy and the other two come from Final Fantasy IX ; the main character, Zidane Tribal, and the villain, Kuja.

We still don't know what "Dramatic Progressive Action" means – that's how the game is described on the official site – but we at least know what the combat entails. We'll be looking at up-close-and-personal battle in a fully 3D field, and the characters will be able to jump and utilize special abilities in real-time. At least, we think it's real-time; it may be a hybrid system of some sort, like the one in Final Fantasy XII .

Obviously, more information should arrive this weekend during the Party. When it does, we'll be sure to let ya know. Final Fantasy Dissidia is just another damn good reason to own a PSP, isn't it?
