We've been hearing all about a new installment in the Tales of Destiny franchise for quite some time, and now, Namco Bandai has finally issued some updates and new details. They even provided us with an estimated release window for the upcoming Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology . According to IGN, the game should be releasing some time this summer.
As we had reported earlier when the game came to light, this new Tales title will boast characters from previous games in the series along with a bunch of new faces. You'll also create and customize hundreds of items, perhaps similar to the Alchemy in Atelier Iris or the Invention process in Star Ocean: 'Til the End of Time . But very much unlike those games, you'll be able to share your newly created items with your friends via the PSP's ad-hoc wireless capability.
The series is most popular in Japan, but has also enjoyed moderate success in the U.S. and Europe, which is why we in the States should also receive the game. So often we don't get some great RPGs simply because they go mostly ignored in regions outside of Japan…let's hope we are indeed getting this one.
