Well, tennis season is underway – it started with the Australian Open, for those of you who don't follow it – and Virtua Tennis 3 is right around the corner for the PS3. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that we'd see a tennis game for the PSP.
It's called Super Smash Court Tennis 3 , and will be published by Namco Bandai. Some may be familiar with the name, as the first two installments in the series appeared on the PS1 and PS2, but for some of us thought we'd seen the last of the Smash Court games. Ah, but how wrong we were; it had one more platform to tackle!
The game will feature 15 playable tennis professionals, including the popular and charismatic Rafael Nadal, the indomitable Justine Henin-Hardenne, and of course, the superior Roger Federer. Oh, and it's our guess we'll see some American names in there as well, like Andy Roddick and Serena Williams. The more, the merrier, right?
This handheld tennis title will have the benefit of minigames, an arcade and exhibition mode, and of course, the very appealing multiplayer support via wireless ad hoc play and head-to-head matches with the game-sharing system. Scheduled for this summer, Smash Court Tennis 3 is sure to be a great option for PSP owners who just so happen to be tennis fans…or at least, video game tennis fans.
