The original rhythm game guru is returning to make another impact for a whole new generation, and on a whole new platform.
According to a recent Famitsu article, Sony is currently working on a remake of the original PlayStation title. Details are a little sketchy and Sony hasn't confirmed the title or date, but the screenshots look awfully familiar. The word "remake" apparently means they'll keep the traditional visual presentation while adding a few new gameplay elements; elements that are "TBA" for the time being. However, we do know the PSP Parappa will feature wireless multiplayer, allowing for competition and the sharing of info and rewards.
The icon slipped a bit after enjoying widespread success with his first title, but Parappa seems poised to reclaim his reputation on the PSP. The "Remake" is currently scheduled for a Winter 2006 Japanese release, and we'll bring you further details when they become available.
