Mercury Meltdown Announced

Ignition Entertainment today announced that it'll be bringing Mercury Meltdown for the PSP to North America on August 22nd. Mercury Meltdown is the follow-up to the critically-appreciated "Archer Maclean's Mercury," which launched alongside the system in 2005.

Modeled after the old-fashioned wooden labyrinth game, Mercury
Meltdown lets you take control of a liquid mercury 'blob', guiding it
around traps, door switches, spikes, moving floors and other hazardous elements. The sequel features a fresh, vibrant graphical style with a zany cartoon quality.

"While remaining true to the first game, Mercury Meltdown has a more
accessible look and feel designed to appeal to a wider audience,"
said Paul Robinson, president of Ignition Entertainment. "Gamers who
loved the first Mercury title will still find their favorite
elements, now with over 160 challenging levels, party games and new
mercury blob physics."

Other new features include different blob types, freeform game progression, downloadable levels, and unlockable minigames and multiplayer party games.
