PSXE Poll Update: PlayStation Fans Split On PS Phone

We figured this would end up being inconclusive. But we do have to consider that we don't have the finalized specs just yet, and we also don't have a price.

Our recent poll asked readers if they were interested in the new PlayStation Phone, and it's basically split down the middle: while about half say they're at least somewhat intrigued by the idea, the other half doesn't have it high on the priority list. The rumors have been flying for the past few months and while the unit's arrival is inevitable, the question is whether or not PlayStation followers will be in line to pick it up. Unfortunately, the specs – which certainly haven't been confirmed – don't appear to be all that special ; it actually seems more like a low-end phone. Then again, we can't trust one overseas source on this matter, and we'll really have to wait until the phone is unveiled at next month's show in Barcelona. Only then will we be able to judge.

This month, we want to know if you're interested in another new addition to the PlayStation universe: Mass Effect 2 . It's finally arriving on Sony's machine with all the current DLC (and it utilizes the new ME3 engine), but as the franchise was only on the 360 and PC thus far, Sony followers may have missed out. This might cause a bit of a barrier, especially considering that ME2 is now a year old; maybe most will just wait for ME3 before jumping on board. What do you say?

Mass Effect is Mass Effect. It doesn't fit well in anyone's conventional idea of what a TPS shooter, RPG, or decision making game should be. Or any other static genre. Games like Uncharted, Oblivion, and Heavy Rain deliver a better more focused effort for each of those more specific genres. The sum of ME's experience delivers entertainment unique from any other game I've played, and, as a whole, it's more than well worth my time. Even if it isn't a pure bred game.

BTW, the original ME was hardly a great "RPG." It was clunkier than necessary in more ways than I care to list. And the changes to ME2 made the experience more focused, and imo, a better game.

EXACTLY!!! I really wish people would stop hailing this game and Bioware as the new Square or king of RPG's. Not even close.

ME2 is a fantastic game. Everyone should at least give it a shot. The videos posted online and the demo don't do it justice at all.

What if we want Mass Effect 2, but no until it's as cheap on ps3 as it is on all the other systems.

I know it comes with all the add ons, but why should I buy a bargain bin 360 game at full price just because they put it on ps3 a year later? When it's cheap I'll pick it up.

I love ME. I'm glad that the ps3 community can now experience it. Although that demo had some "strange" moments in it. I have the game but I'm really curious about the comic that is in this version.
