Well, PSP owners in North America are all saying the same thing right now: "it's about time!"
Today, Square-Enix has announced that Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep , a prequel to the super smash franchise, will be on North American store shelves on September 7. In this iteration, you will explore various fantasy worlds through the eyes of three main characters: Terra, Ventus, and Aqua. Furthermore, to celebrate the launch, Sony will offer a special Limited Edition Birth by Sleep PSP Entertainment Pack, which will also be available on the 7th. It'll boast a cool "Mystic Silver" PSP-3000 unit, the UMD disc for for the game, a "TBA" movie, and a 4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, and that ought to be attractive for RPG fans everywhere. Lastly, the press release has tuned us into the voice acting for the game; the cast is awfully impressive, as names like Mark Hamill, James Woods, Leonard Nimoy, Willa Holland and Jesse McCartney are featured. This series has typically used professional, accomplished voice actors so perhaps it's not surprising to see such highly recognizable names but even so, it's certainly encouraging. Hamill is building quite the game resume, isn't he?
The timing seems decent, too. We'll get Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker next month, which means we'll get a bit of a break between huge PSP releases. By the time Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep arrives, portable players ought to be begging for another big title.

Nice package – for those in need of a PSP…
Id get this pack, but imo i think that the MGS Peace Walker Pack is better.
No no no…not "IMO" you mean Peace Walker pack is better…and it's a fact that it is better. Because: it's Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. =)
Nah…jk – it's going to be tough choosing between this and Peace Walker. My parents don't really let me buy 2 games in a year. I'm lucky if I can get one. I can buy really old used PS2 classics considering their price and stuff…but not for PSP for some reason. – Wonder how they'll act once I get a PS3.
But…I could have honestly sworn that Square Enix said that Birth By Sleep was going to come out this Summer in the U.S.
Are you telling me they LIED?!?! A COMPANY LIKE SQUARE ENIX….LIED?!?!?! *rolls eyes*
Or in all seriousness of reality…did they have some announcement before hand which I missed noting that Birth By Sleep would be delayed in the NA?
september is technically still the summer
Also, I had heard that the street date for Birth by Sleep was December 31st. That would seem to me that the release date has been shortened considerably!! Also, if I didn't have a PSP already, I'd have to choose the Birth By Sleep bundle. I wonder what that movie would be… oh, and I'm more of a Kingdom Hearts fan than MGS. I've tried the game and every try, it just seems…sucky.
Wow finally! Getting peace walker and this eventually.
so, it's like getting the Dissidia psp bundle…cept with 4gb and a secret movie.
Either way, been anticipating this game for a long time now.
Hope this is better then that one that came out on the DSi.
Never played any KH games. But I will! As soon as that PS3 backwards compatibility update comes out.
Oh Lord.
When is Kratos gonna step in and end all this Disney nonsense?
Aww, the whole time, it was a TBA Summer 2010 date 🙁
Ah well, I at least have a date ^.^ and I'm going to tell all my friends this, I know they'll be excited!
thats it just a stupid silver psp no special marks just like the japanese version. and there better be good preorder bonus then crappy post cards like for the rest of the two releases
Yes! That means it's close to releasing in Europe too, I hope.
yay a good portable Kingdom Hearts entry, ok, I'd rather have Kingdom Hearts 3 on the PS3, but this will keep me busy for a while.
I though this title was coming out next month… Ah… Pity :/
Anyway, I've already got a PSP and I'm not really a collector, but this pack sounds too awesome to pass up. Time to start saving up my pennies!
I was born asleep once.
sweet would love to have this and world lol
I'm so glad that they are making a bundle with this,I lost my psp:( …lol
ben, you forgot VC2. I think that it is a big title.
Damn it…don't have a PSP anymore. I wish the PS3 had a feature that allowed you to download and play PSP games on the console if you don't have or want to buy a PSP…
