PSP Version Of Forgotten Sands Is Entirely Unique

You know, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is coming to the PSP, too, and it's not some watered-down port of the bigger console versions.

We learn this much by checking a recent post over at the PlayStation Blog , made by Ubisoft Producer Joel Vignola. Firstly, he clarifies that the game is most certainly not based on the movie – starring Jake Gyllenhaal, which comes out soon – and that the PSP version is an entirely "unique game built from the ground up specifically for the PSP." He goes on to say that the "adventure is new, the location is new, and the Prince's powers are all new as well." We really like the sound of being able to speed up and slow down certain objects within the game, and solidifying new paths of sand for passage. As an added bonus for PS3 and PSP owners, you can connect both version together, which will grant you "the original Sands of Time costume for the Prince to wear in the PSP version of Forgotten Sands." There's also a really cool new trailer through the Blog link, so you should check it out. The PSP has a lot of great software but it tends to get overlooked in certain situations, like when the console versions of a certain game get all the attention.  It's bound to happen sometimes, right?

The fact that it launches on the same day as Red Dead Redemption shouldn't deter you. Prince of Persia has been a stellar franchise for years.

I've sort of given up on my PSP. I mainly use it to watch videos or play music.

The only games I've bought in the last two years are Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy VII.

In Australia the new PSP games can be around $65 which is nearly the same price as a PS3 game (after their first price drop), so it's a no brainer. They dont even hold their value so you get nothing much trading them back either.

Shame. I just wish they could port a lot more of their PSOne and PS2 games over. I would definately buy more of them.
