It was one of the biggest announcements during Sony's E3 press conference, and not long after, Jeff Rubenstein sat down to have a chat with Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi.
Recently posted over at the PlayStation Blog , they talk about Gran Turismo PSP and how challenging it was for Polyphony Digital to produce a full-fledged GT installment on a machine with a lot less memory and a slower CPU speed. Obvious sacrifices had to be made but at the same time, Yamauchi says they wanted to insure that when someone picked up the game, they knew it was Gran Turismo . In other words, he didn't want the experience to be lacking just because it was on a portable gaming device. Then they touch on Gran Turismo 5 and Rubenstein asks how Yamauchi intends to stay above the competition: the master responds that what we saw in the trailer at E3 was just a "small portion" of what the team is currently working on, and if they match their lofty expectations, he's confident GT will continue to reign supreme in the racing world. Lastly, they talk about the bad-assery of the Nissan GT-R, which – as we auto fans at PSXE already know – was partly designed by Yamauchi and Polyphony. Oh yeah, and it beat the bullet train, too. HAha!
We always like to find interviews with Yamauchi, just because he always seems to have great stuff to say. We have no doubt that GT PSP and GT5 will be beautiful and supremely accomplished, and we wait with bated breath for the announcement of that GT5 release date… By the way, you can land GT PSP this October.

Hey, he can spell. 🙂
Wow, well back to the greatness that is Grand Turismo!! I can not wait for the PS3 version, but this is the game that will tempt me to finally get a PSP…
I wish the bashing of our northern friends would cease, I personally like a lot of Canadians.
It is a real shame that he could just not face the truth and deal… Everyone here has info to contribute, and I think it is a great community.
….um Gran Turismo PSP is going to be amazing.
As a sidenote – if it only features ad-hoc WLAN play, there is an application on the Japan PS store called Ad-hoc party. You can use your PS3 to play PSP ad-hoc games online. I've been using it for Monster Hunter. It's really a neat application.
Finally that stupid animal will leave us alone!!!YES!!!
By the way, since GT PSP is being released on the 1st of October, I hope the big brother won't be long coming 🙂
To get back on topic, I am definitely getting both versions of GT5. Gran turismo on the PSP is the reason I bought the system. and now after 5 years of waiting, it will finally be here. has there been a more anticipated game for the PSP? I think not.
Unrelated to the topic at hand, did you ever notice how some people grow big brass ones when anonymity is involved?
I noticed.
Indeed, it is as you say.
The Eye of Moron is always strong until faced with facts and competence, then the Eye becomes angry and drops the F-bombs.
Isn't it comical how a Troll will always manage to short-circuit and drown itself once the flood waters of truth has overtaken it's bridge?

Isn't it funny when someone forgets to flush the toilet? No? Okay. I didn't think so either.
Back on topic: Yeeeeesss! Can't wait to get GT for the PSP and GT5. Waiting is agony.
I saw some hands-on videos for GT: PSP and I was blown away by the graphics. Definitely warranted my purchase!
@Alienange,
<<<<<I could have sworn in the original thread you had said the "typo" was supposed to be 70" not 32".>>>
Yes he did! He changed it from 72" to 70", and now he says it was a different typo, so it's a 32" now. Wow, he owns the Wold's only incredible shrinking HDT
And next week it will be another one of his typos….."OOPS, I meant it was a 5 incher for my ride".
He's either the greatest wizard on Earth(after Merlin of course)or a immature liar.
I'll make bet on which one everyone chooses!
Well you have to notice that his profile states 8/31/1994 for his birthday…
That is a lot of dough for a kid to be slinging around. I figure easy 3K for the TV, PS3, PSP, and external drives… That is mowing a LOT of lawns!

I just knew it! The incredible shrinking HDTV. That would be a SECOND win for physical media over digital downloads.
@PS3addict
Nahhh, He's just got a big paper route……
it covers ALL of North & South America
(and at his age, the "VIRGIN" Islands too)
