Anything with "Final Fantasy" in the title is almost always worthy of attention, and for European gamers and PSP fans, this is the news you've been waiting for.
Dissidia: Final Fantasy has already been scheduled for an August 30 release in North America but up until now, we've heard nothing about a European/PAL release. Well, the silence is over: Square-Enix has announced that the highly anticipated fighter featuring the stars of the FF universe will release in Europe/PAL territories in Autumn 2009. The most famous heroes and villains collide in an epic set of battles that will leave you breathless; the one-on-one confrontations between the likes of Tidus and Jecht or Squall and Kefka or whatever you wish ought to be intriguing, and let's not forget that your arena is quite large. All we can think of is the final battle between Cloud and Sephiroth in "Advent Children." Said John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square-Enix:
"With so many favourite heroes and villains contained in one game, DISSIDIA -FINAL FANTASY- is certainly going to appeal to fans of FINAL FANTASY. We also hope that players unfamiliar with the series are also attracted by an action-packed experience that really showcases the PSP and is set to become an instant classic on the system."
Okay, so by the end of this year, all three major territories will have had the opportunity to give Dissidia a try, and you really can't ask for more than that. It may not be an RPG for the hardcore fans, but if you're a true FF follower, you'll definitely consider a purchase. Make sure to check out any and all PSP videos we have for the title; there's plenty of gameplay to examine.
