Atlus Announces NA Release For Class Of Heroes PSP

These days, RPG fans are often forced to go handheld to get their role-playing fix, as the next-gen titles for the PS3 and 360 are a little slow in hitting store shelves. The PSP is already home to more than a few traditional, old-school RPGs, and now, it's getting one more.

According to DailyGamesNews, Atlus has revealed that they've obtained the rights to publish Class of Heroes in North America. It holds to the classic, first-person dungeon-crawling format that many veterans will remember with fond nostalgia, and this particular one will feature over 75 levels and 1300 different items. You will also have to learn Alchemy, locate rare artifacts, and of course, attempt to build your party into an unstoppable, enemy-slaying machine. This is the type of game that may appeal exclusively to those who are familiar with titles like Etrian Odyssey ; the newer generation of gamers may find it difficult to wrap their brains around this archaic role-playing style. But then again, if you're an avid PSP player, you've probably already experienced some old-school stuff, right? Atlus is rapidly becoming the king of traditional RPGs, what with their continued support of the aging PS2 (last year's Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 was fantastic), and their commitment to the fans isn't to be questioned.

Class of Heroes is scheduled to drop in the U.S. on April 7, and it should give you plenty to do for several weeks. That's always the good news with RPGs like this- you're almost guaranteed to get some serious bang for your buck.

Sorta like Disgaea then, with an essence of Mana?
