Square-Enix has released their latest sales numbers and not surprisingly, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII leads the pack by a very large margin. In fact, it's closing in on 2 million copies sold worldwide!
The FFVII prequel has sold about 820,000 in Japan, an impressive 610,000 in North America, and 460,000 in Europe (with an additional 30,000 in Asia). The action/RPG received rave reviews worldwide, which only helped to boost sales of a game that already had a recognizable title to entice consumers. If you want to check out the latest sales chart , feel free; it includes the total sales numbers for all three major regions, and obviously the many S-E DS titles are doing quite well. Dragon Quest IV has gone through the roof in Japan (no big shock there), and Final Fantasy IV continues its strong performance as well. Square-Enix has been delivering the handheld titles on a pretty routine basis over the past few years, although we're all still waiting for their emergence onto the next-gen console scene. The first will be The Last Remnant , which is scheduled to launch this month for the Xbox 360, but sadly, won't release on the PlayStation 3 until later.
The sequels and spin-offs are working wonders for Square-Enix when it comes to the portables, so expect to see more of that in the future. But if they want to make a certain remake, there's only one platform it can go to…but we won't talk about that.

This game is the reason why I want a PSP.
It's probaly the only good game on the PSP at the moment (That hasnt been ported to the PS2). I enjoyed Crisis Core very much, it's giving me hope for Square-Enix and just shows they ae still able to make good games, lets hope FFXIII turns out to be good.
IMHO I don't think too highly of what I have seen from FFXIII to date. Not that I am not hoping it will be good I just feel like it is going to be a letdown. On the other hand, FFvXIII looks a lot more like what I want out of a new FF game. It seems dark and seems like it is more based on a futile fight form what I have heard anyway. FFXIII just seems a bit to bright in my opinion.
What about God of War: Chains of Olympus?
god of war for psp was okay but too short literally, This game and Dissidia: Final Fantasy are the biggest reasons to get a psp.
Well, good. Certain remakes may get more attention then. Although since we are all being screwed on XIII why isn't 360 Last Remnant being shelved until they get the PS3 one done? And how did Infinite Undiscovery do? Yeah, so can't they see Sony fans are the rpg buyers now?
I loved Crisis Core when I played it. I still have yet to finish it but that was my fault. Once I started on the side missions I couldn't stop and so I grew tiresome of the game. Maybe I'll pick it up and play again…
Same here, I still have to defeat you-know-who and it got a bit frustrating… Dissidia looks interesting… but as far as storylines go… does it have one?
Crisis Core is awesome, I beat the game and maxed out the game and missions with 120+ hours. lol, only one complain, the main story is a bit short.
Square-Enix enriched the hand-held console RPGs which I all have, however, wut about the PS3? It is getting hungry for big JRPGs, even The Last Remnant has not had a release date yet for PS3. seems I have to buy it as my second only recruit for my xbox 360. (the first and only one being Lost Odyssey, sorry, I am just a grand JRPG fan. And the sole purpose of getting a 360 is to capture any grand JRPG that is 360 exclusive)
