If you're a longtime reader, you already know that Sony had announced MediEvil Resurrection, Ape Escape Academy, Daxter, and SOCOM for the PSP.
At E3 we've finally learned the release dates for these three highly-anticipated games.
MediEvil Resurrection, the update to the popular PSOne franchise, will ship September 2005. Oooh.
Ape Escape Academy, the party game collection based on Ape Escape, will ship in early 2006 (late winter). That's a full year after the Japanese release, but Sony does plan to add extra content to the North American version to offset the delay.
Daxter–just Daxter… that's it–will ship May 2006. The game is a single-player action platformer that takes place in the two years in between the first two PS2 Jak & Daxter games. It will also feature connectivity with the soon-to-be released Jak X Racing for PS2.
Last, but not least, SOCOM for the PSP, which is now officially called SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALS: Fireteam Bravo, will ship in the fall of 2005 (late October or early November). Fans of the PS2 game will be happy to know that the PSP game will include multiplayer team and free-for-all combat modes. Sony is also working on a connectivity mode that will allow players to transfer mission data and objectives between the PSP game and the PS2 version of the upcoming SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALS 3.
We'll bring you more information on these and other games as the show continues. Until then, check out our PSP Screenshots section.
