Without any doubt, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops helped to sell plenty of PSPs. There are millions of MGS fans in the world, so of course, when their favorite franchise goes portable, it's a pretty big deal. Considering all this, are you really all that shocked to hear that Konami is currently working on a sequel?
Sony didn't exactly have a stellar conference, but at the very least, there's been plenty of Metal Gear news at this year's Tokyo Game Show. Not much is known about it at this point, but IGN and other sources are reporting that it's gonna happen: Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops 2 is on the way, much to the delight of handheld gamers everywhere. Konami hasn't officially revealed any specific details or information concerning this sequel, but we expect to hear more as TGS rolls on, and even more as the holidays creep ever closer.
But if you want some rudimentary info, check out Ashley Wood's blog . She's a graphic artist that has worked with Kojima Productions on the legendary series, and she's responsible for the likes of the MGS comic book and the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel. But more importantly (for the purposes of this story), she also worked on the cut-scenes in the original Portable Ops , and she's got some early details on the sequel for ya. Hopefully, we'll have more in the coming weeks.
