Ben-DutkaIn comparison to other publishers, Ubisoft has been pretty nice to PlayStation 3 owners this generation.
Take for example the excellent bonus they're tossing into the PS3 version of November's Assassin's Creed: Revelations ; the "initial run" of the game will include a copy of the original Assassin's Creed .
By teaming up with SCEA, PS3 owners will be able to nab both Revelations and the title that started it all. This is especially fitting as the new entry marks the return of Altair, the protagonist of the first assassin adventure, which released back in 2007. And by the way, we have to maintain that the game in question takes a lot of unwarranted flak. It had its problems but most were overshadowed by the obvious potential, which was subsequently realized in following installments, as the fans well know.
It doesn't have the polish or depth of later games in the series, but the original AC remains one of those titles that made an indelible mark on me. It was one of the first "wow" experiences of the generation in my eyes, so say what you want.
I really enjoyed the first AC, but for some odd reason, I never got around to any of the other ones. Too much else on my plate I guess? Oh well, now that they've gone down in price, I'm sure I'll give them a shot. I sold my copy of AC long ago, so it's nice to know I can get it back by buying Revelations.

I've been hooked on AC since the first game. Ubi has done a fantastic job with each game and AC Revealations is my most wanted game this fall. It would be nice if they would give the first game trophies.
Yes to the trophies! Would give me a good reason to play it again.
The Assassin's Creed series is Ubisoft's most distinguished franchise this generation. The amount of research that goes into developing the history and the subsequent gameplay improvements with each release is incredible. But really, at the end of the day, nothing is more satisfying than climbing to the top of actual historical landmarks and doing a Leap of Faith.
Awesome, but I'm a little confused about something…
Will it be included on disc since it's blu-ray, or will it be a download code for PSN? Sounds like it's on disc, but I'm not so sure.
If so, maybe I should trade my 360 version of AC when I pick up Revelations sometime early next year. (Yeah, it's gonna have to wait til I get thru the end of year rush and complete AC Brotherhood)

Well, include a copy would most definitely mean it's going to be physical. Besides, they'd probably say psn version instead of ps3 version haha
They might just throw in a voucher code to DL it.
I believe it's going to be on the disc.
I already have AC1, but as a collector I'm certainly hoping it's on the Revelations disc itself as well and not just a D/L code.

The first AC was prone to certain performance hiccoughs on PS3 (don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it and the two sequels). Unless they fixed up some of those things on the copy that comes with Revelations you might want to hold on to your 360 copy.
Don't bother, it'll be worth a whopping 50 cents.

I am not a big fan of the first Assassin's Creed game, but this is great news for those who haven't played it yet. The first game was a tad too repetitive for my liking. Anyway, I was hoping they'd include Brotherhood instead since I haven't bought that one until now, but I guess it's still quite a recent game.
thats pretty cool of them to do this for anyone who missed it. its definitely worth checking out.

So far, I cannot recall any announcement for a disc-based RE4 HD.

Nice deal though. PS3 getting the love between this, the same for Bioshock and extra content for NFS and SSX.
I agree with Ben, the first AC actually wow me even though it was repetitive. I enjoyed the story, the world, and new gameplay format. Great game in my eyes especially for the time period it was released in….2007. Hope it's disc form though, this is the only AC I don't own.
Way to go Ubisoft! This is a great thing for me because I can complete my assassins creed collection now and because its a great way for those that are new to the series. I am still kicking myself for trading in the original assassins creed. This is my favorite series of the ps3 generation. I am hoping assassins creed sticks around for a long time.

I'm not the biggest fan of this series but as a fan of gaming I've played all of this series entries, eventually will buy it but not a D1P for me.
BTW I think the first AC was boring.
Well, I already own the first game.. I wonder if they'll finally include trophy support for AC1 if it's coming with Revelations. I believe only the 360 version had trophies for it.

Glad to hear they're doing this. I traded in AC1 back in the day and its my most-regretted trade in that I've ever done. Thank goodness I can get it back for free now. Yeah, I know the original costs very little nowadays and I should have rebought it long before now, but that doesn't matter anymore with this news.
Really had a hard time with AC. There just wasn't a game under the hood, problems with the weak writing and even the environments themselves with a repetitive popullation. I only just finished it. It only took me more than a year.
Thankfully now that I've finally finished it I can move onto the sequels which I am still excited for despite my feelings of the 1st.
Unfortunately I checked: no trophy patch for Assassin's Creed. Figures. It's very kind of Ubisoft to include the original game but they could at least release a trophy patch finally!
