The return of Syndicate isn't a huge surprise and some of the uninitiated are going, "meh, just another shooter."
But wait a minute now. The latest issue of PSM3 has offered up a horde of details , and you just might change your tune after reading…
Check out the list of features and information and try not to be excited. Starbreeze is at the helm and if they can give us The Darkness and The Chronicles of Riddick , we're confident they can make Syndicate 's return a successful one. The game in question boasts an atmosphere inspired by sci-fi movies like "Blade Runner," "Terminator," "The Matrix," and "Inception," and all early indications are that the game looks amazing.
The concept is interesting, too. Most of earth's population has a consumer chip implanted in their heads; it's the DART 6 chip and it manages their lives while simultaneously granting access to tremendous technology. Syndicates feed data into these chips, and the "brutally competitive corporations" are in a battle to gain control over the "plugged-in citizens of the world." Futuristic destinations will include New York, Los Angeles and the floating city of La Ballena.
Intelligent AI can be expected, along with the skill called "breaching." It's sort of like hacking and the idea behind it reminds us of Mindjack . By utilizing various abilities and hacking into the chips in his enemy's heads, the main character gains the advantage. For instance, the skill Suicide will cause foes to turn their guns on themselves, while Allegiance is even more powerful, as the enemy will turn on his comrades and then kill himself. Sounds interesting, no?
