Ben-DutkaResistance 3 is a fantastic game.

The DLC will be ready to roll on October 4; it's The Survival Pack and delivers a new game mode for the multiplayer: Invasion. Both teams will have to divide resources to simultaneously hold control locations on the map; the longer you hold those nodes, the more points you'll receive (sounds a bit like Domination). Also, you'll get four new skins of the various Survivors, plus a static XMB theme. The DLC will cost you $3.99.
Finally, the developers will release a game patch on that same date (October 4), which is for everyone and will bring us two new maps. Look, you gotta play this game.

3.99 sounds like a good price. I think Sony is really get at pricing DLC. I think I will play the MP quite a bit on this one so I may get it when it drops.

Who's idiot idea was THIS?? From the reviews the mp is clearly the weakest aspect of the game. So why not give us everything we're paying for? No, they've gotta nickel and dime the hell out of any possible online community the game may have but probably won't now that the mp is gimped.

In comparison to what COD offers, R3's DLC is good bargain.

CoD has a very VERY strong online community. They can, and do, charge whatever they want for their map packs.
The Resistance franchise does not. You think hard core mp gamers are going to jump into R3, see the underwhelming mp and then go buy more game modes for $4 a piece? No. You have to create the community first THEN you can come out with your nonsense dlc.
I don't think anyone said they would switch over. But you don't need a big community to release DLC, that's nonsense. The more stuff you have out for it the more appealing it will be for people.

Blech, release day DLC announcement. Feels nasty. The Cryogun sounds pretty mad though. I wonder how long Insomniac will support this one with new content, considering A41 is right around the corner and Overstrike is on the way. And why, oh why is this supposed to be the end of Resistance? I'm not normally one for farming out series, but Sony definitely needs to keep this series alive, at any costs.
The DLC sounds cool, however, I can't stand it when game devs announce the first DLC pack before I even have the damn game. That stuff was obviously made before the game was gold and should be on the game disc. In fact, it probably is on the disc, you just have to pay to unlock it. Oh well, that's the way business go. At least it isn't $15 like the damn CoD games DLC.

would be cool if they would give us new guns to play with, especially since that is there trademark.
they did not add enough new weapons to this, the mutation gun which causes boils to appear was cool but we need more new cool weapons!
day 1 dlc annoncements are just awful. this one in particular. a capture and hold mode in the mp as dlc? that's a staple of fps mulltiplayer, and it should not cost anything extra. why split the community up like that? dumb move that will only segment the mp community.
DLC will split the community no matter what game it is, as long as it has a multiplayer component.
I'm Going today for my copy, can't wait to go home
