Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is all about the multiplayer. Without it, we don't have a franchise.
And with the Call of Duty XP weekend already in full swing, all sorts of information and footage is flooding out from the west coast. The first involved a lot of rosy statistics for the CoD series and the second is the world premiere of the official multiplayer trailer. It's nearly four minutes of intense action, which may or may not impress the hardcore fans (depending on their point of view). Check it out:
It's inevitable that MW3 will sell millions upon millions of copies, and will become the biggest multiplayer game of the generation. It'll likely be the biggest title of the generation (sales-wise) so obviously, the hype and expectations are through the roof. After everything you've heard and seen, does this trailer satisfy? Are you impressed with what you see? Can't wait for November 8?
Related Game(s): Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Can't wait….hopefully by nov. 8 I'll b done with a first run thru of uncharted 3
Wow, i am not pumped at all for this game. Like not even remotely interested for it.
Meh… looks mostly the same, and I hope quick-scoping doesn't come back… That's one thing I'm glad they got rid of from Black Ops. >:P
I don't mind quick-scoping, it was just too easy in MW2. If the made quick-scoping like it was in MW1, I would be happy.
It was an auto-aim malfunction. lol. poor programming. It's dirty and ruins the game, when done a la MW2 style.
i dont quickscope, i use the barret .50 as a semi-automatic assault rifle, almost seem like a full auto. thanks to the ps3 using R1 as the fire trigger, i've been accused multiple times of using a turbo controller in COD4
Yeah, JohnLD that's fine. That's not quick scoping.
In MW2, there's an auto-aim malfunction. In most CoD games, there's an aim assist feature called "auto-aim". It helps you quickly aim in on someone. However, in MW2, when sniping, it fails in favor of the person who knows how to exploit it.
When you bring your sniper up to aim, there is a moment before you can see through the scope where the aim is directly on a person. But you can't see it. What people do, is rapidly bring the scope -almost- to their face, so all you see on your screen as the sniper, is the big round scope (without actually seeing anything through it). If you fire before you see the zoomed in image, you will hit -ANY- player on your screen. Often, you'll see in slow motion final kill cams, a sniper go off with a big scope in front of the screen. Then when it zooms in, you see the aim reticle literally 10's of meters away from the person.
Basically, people exploit the auto-aim to hit their target everytime. It's pretty dirty. You can get a head shot without aiming anywhere near your target. It works through buildings too. People will scan the outside of buildings with lots of quick scope shots and kill people on the other side without actually aiming at where they are.
That's the dirt I'm referring to.
when it finally changes a bit more different is when everybody starts complaining. the menus and graphics basically look like MW2s but the gameplay looks somewhat different, i like how they did the killstreaks. they also have that new gun level thing, not sure what it is but still.
yeah, i know about quickscoping but i never once used it. i just took my barret with an acog and started hunting people down. or when i'm playing headquarters i find a spot close to the HQ that i can see everything and stop people from entering.
Well, the music's certainly epic in this trailer, I'll give it that. Otherwise, it's just more of the "been there, done that." I'll buy MW3, but only for the single player and to say that I have the trilogy. I have no interest in playing the MP with a bunch of immature teenagers.
Stealth Bomber is now 14 kills? lol, smh. 9 kills was too much for it. A killstreak like that should be 7 kills at the most.
Stealth bomber kills in a giant line whether you are in a building or not (unless at bottom of 2+ stories)
What is the stealth bomber kill, which COD was that in, last COD I played was W@W.

Exactly, it just comes and goes in a single line. How is that worth 14 kills?
Yet an AC-130 in MW2 was only 2 more kills (11 kills altogether) and you could easily get a lot more kills with that as opposed to the bomber.
I think it depends on the game mode, too. I would never use a stealth bomber in TDM. But I use it -every time- when playing demolition. Bomb out a bomb site either after or right before your teammate is set to plant a bomb. You guarantee to buy them 10+ seconds.
The same can be applied for capture the flag. It would be awesome for Search and Destroy, but those games are too short to hit 9 kills consistently. For search I keep it restricted to 3, 4, and 5 killstreak killstreaks. That way I regularly capitalize.
But yeah… TDM when everyone is everywhere with little to no tactics… Stealth Bomber is almost useless.
Heh… at the end of the video, the guy finally killed the quick scope glitcher.
What series follow up don t look mostly the same , so tired of that comment .
To me it look like they changed more then hater will ever admit .
You think so? I didn't really feel that video showed much. Everything was from a different standpoint than when you actually play. It didn't really give me a good feel for what it will be like.
Well they showed someone pick up a dog tag of the enemy he just kill and also the one that his dead enemy did nt have time to pick from his last kill body . Meaning you might have to pick those up like in medal of honor so you re kill count toward a killstreak .Poor little campers .
Watch from 47 sec to see for yourself ^^^ .
There are pro perks in the killstreak slot ( pretty weird to see ) .
There is a proficiency slot ( focus , kick , attachment , can t wait to see what they mean ) .
The stronger killstreak will be even harder to get , 14 kill instead of 8 for the silent bomber for example .
Like most know there is a new game mode called survival and also the one called Kill confirmed unless it s another name for a old gametype .
Also can t forget new weapon , killstreaks and perks .
Yes it s basically the same but as i said early , so are most follow up .

Fair enough.
As for camping, I think localized roamers, as I call them, will be fine. Camping in terms of never leaving a very specific spot, yeah that'll suck for them.
By localized camping, I mean when 1 or two people hold down an area. I know when we have 4 or so of us on at a time, we select an area to hold down. After each kill, we adjust our location in that area, but we still hold the same area. That's different from camping. For us, there would be no problem for picking up dog tags.
As for me, I don't care too much about kill streaks. I would prefer to use the dog tags as bait. Camp a dog tag! lol Some poor sucker comes gallivanting along to pick up a dog tag, and BOOM! hehe. I like being allowed to be clever in games.
what series follow up is basically the same as the last 3 or 4 offerings? CoD. Other series have seen improvements in some way or another, be it gameplay wise or graphical wise, or both. No other game series this gen has so many entries into the series that look relatively the same.
This video doesn't show a whole lot of change either. Guns still sound a bit generic, graphics are still roughly the same as MW2. But let me guess, since my opinion may differ from yours, im a CoD hater right?

They don t change because they want to , most of the time it s because they are starting to have a hard time selling their game as it is.
Every year COD beat record in sales , why would they change everything .They take what put them on the map and try to improve them the best they can ( yes it s not always for the best ).
I ll be the first to admit that nothing perfect and some things should have been worked on more like the unbalanced weapon in black ops .Every time i picked the famas it felt like i was cheating .
P.S it s hard to name a game that did nt change after the 3rd or 4th one because the sells started to be pretty low at that point .

no one said they have to change their winning formula, but for christ sakes, upgrade ur stuff. Improve on it, don't just rest on it
@tridon….I bet you ain't to good in the mulitiplayer part lol 8)
Hey dude, if you like, there's a reply button you can use. Easier than hoping he scrolls down later to see your reply. He can come back, and boom! Your response is right below his! 🙂
I'll openly admit that I'm not that great of a MP player, but the fact still remains that four out of every five times I play online, I'm listening to complete jack@SSes with zero intelligence and a complete lack of respect and manners. I've been threatened, harrassed and annoyed while playing online. That's no fun for me. It doesn't matter, anyway. I got into video games to experience storylines, not run-and-gun with a bunch of morons. The day single player dies is the day I retire from video games.
Well said Tridon.
This is what every one is talking about?
I don't see anything special about this. It's the same game with a new title. It's a shame really, people have literally paid hundreds if dollars over the course of a couple of years on the same crap. SAD……it really is.
The camping sniper wins the first 3 rounds, then the last segment the sniper snipes the camping sniper…hmm, just like all the other COD multiplayers. How original.
You guys have to let me no what fps ya guys be playing that's sooo great
Killzone 3, BFBC2, Resistance 1 and 2, Crysis 2, Farcry 2… then there are other in depth games with strong emphasis on shooter features, like Bioshock, Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Mass Effect 2….
These are just off the top of my head. If I had an XBOX, I'd probably prefer Halo and Gears, too.

Killzone 3 is pretty good but very slow. Doesn't move fast enough for me.
Bad Company 2 is alright, nothing very special to me.
Resistance 1 and 2 are decent, but I'm not a big fiction shooter fan (aliens, monsters, etc.)
Crysis 2 is terrible, and so is Farcry 2.
Sounds like you aren't a shooter fan. Maybe a CoD fan, but not a fan of the genre?
In a way, I am and am not a shooter fan.
When it comes to shooting games, very few games have actually captured my interest. Call of Duty Modern Warfare series is one of them, and the biggest one. Something about this game series really makes it just great to me, even though it has its' multiple flaws and glitches.
Edit: Other shooting games I liked were the older Socom and Medal of Honor, but how time changes things…

That's fair. I would, admittedly, like CoD much more if it wasn't for things like that quick scope glitch… the little problems that allow people to exploit poor design flaws (cheating) inevitably ruin the experience for me. I usually like it ok for the first couple weeks. But when people figure out those exploits, it ruins it. I mean… I know how to quick scope glitch too… but it ruins the challenge and thus, the fun.
I'm pretty sure if they improved the flaws from previous titles, I would welcome CoD back much more warmly. At it's core, it's not bad.
The thing is that no game can be perfect. I read an article before (was probably on here) that no game can be bug-free entirely. At the same time, there will ALWAYS be people out there that try to exploit things, no matter what they are. This means any game is vulnerable to at least some glitching/hacking, certain ones a lot more than others.
Modern Warfare series are a big target of that, but through thick and thin, I love the gameplay, the perks, the killstreaks, how realistic guns look and etc. The games are just awesome to me and have kept me entertained for years.
As the years go by, I honestly do find myself less and less interested in other gaming titles, and Modern Warfare series is the main series I can always go back to for more fun (other series include Ninja Gaiden, Tekken, Gran Turismo and hopefully a FFVII remake).
Edit: I agree, at its' core the series just try to do what the fans want. I strongly believe it's the camping, young (like really young), hacking and glitch exploiting community that ruins the game for a lot of people. As annoying as all that is even to me, it's not annoying enough to keep me away.

Pretty sure the graphics won't look like this, but at the end of the day…BF3 honestly looks like its ahead of the game right now because CoD still looks basic. Either way, cool trailer that doesn't mean anything…KZ3 tricked me!
Wow. I saw maybe all of 27 seconds of ACTUAL game play? Fail.
Kz wasn't all that great…it was cool but not great
That's fair. But can you explain why you feel that way? I'm liable to disagree, but I'd like to know what exactly I'm addressing here.
i enjoyed k3 more than i did black ops
I can tell in my own words why KZ3 wasn't that great especially after KZ2
1)MP (in comparison to KZ2): downgraded 24player matches, smaller maps, base camping, poor spawn point sx. in warzone, Infilitrator class abuse, no way to counter enemies cinematic melees (thats wasn't that bad though)
2)Single player: Too much on-rail action, weak acting, overuse of musical score, Predictable average story, again poor character development and a very poor ending even for FPS standards.
KZ3 was a good game technically, but when you compare it to other games already on the market…the only things that truly stand out are the graphics, weapon response and speaker rattling audio. But even those are preference and KZ3 did nothing to exceed expectations or set a bar. The game definitely handled better than KZ2, but thats where my praise ends for that title. I was higly dissappointed and didn't regret trading it earlier this summer.
I enjoyed KZ3 as much as I enjoyed MW2 and Black Ops…meaning it was a forgettable experience!
I wasn't going to get the game at first (thanks to the Survival Mode trailer) but this video changed my mind. They brought back things I like and fixed things that I didn't like before.
For example, Overkill is now back. Yee niqqa!

mmmmmm looks okish…….graphics could use an upgrade tho im sure mp will be fun
Ok I been on this site getting review and news for about 3 years or so…I just signed up to post thing cuz I really didn't Carr for posting but it seems and I'll go back from mw2 like nobody ever gave cod ne credit on this site…when resistance came out with I believe 32 vs 32 online….I can be wrong I wasn't big on it…but everyone was yehhhhh that's I'm talking about moving forward blah blah blah cod would never do that blah blah blah….now I read sum where could b. Rumor that they removed the 32 vs 32 …no one talking bout them going backwards and blah blah blah…now I'm no cod fan boy…I play a LIL of everything or try to psn nytaxation…trophy proof lol….but come on the game can't sellll millions of copy for no reason other then the casual gamef
Gotta agree…that mess with Resistance 3 needs to be pointed out…..16 player matches?…WHOA, and no one on here is pointing it out
no one on here is pointing it out because its already something we've complained about as well as the lack of the awesome co op that was on R2. there's still co op, just not in the form of R2. Plus this is a MW3 article, what does R3 have to do with whatever shortcomings someone sees with MW3?

Now if my facts r wrong plz let me no…I'm not starting a fight just wonder why everyone hates cod….I was flipping thru channels and I run into a tank moving in a desert and I said oh what's this I thought it was a movie but it was a clip of bf3 the graphics were amazing but I really didnt find part two that much fun
no one's starting a fight with you. 🙂
Just wondering why you don't like KZ3. What about CoD makes it better than the rest? you know?
Inquiring minds want to know! Not trying to be critical of your preferences. Afterall, "best game" is pretty subjective. Who am I to tell you what you like? Know what I mean?
As for me, I'm not a huge FPS fan to begin with. So I'm largely critical of most FPS games already. At it's core, I think CoD is great. But over time, I'm constantly faced with more and more issues. For example, MW2 is full of cheaters… quick scope glitches… hiding in rocks… it just ruins the experience for me. And I think I just get bothered by the fact that the programming problems in the game never seem to get fixed. That kind of thing bothers me.
But KZ3, for example, took fan criticisms, like how KZ2 felt "too heavy" to some people, and completely altered how it handled to make it a better experience. I can appreciate that sort of thing. Know what I mean?
@Underdog…if u Check my trophy list which it should b up there I went out my way to get kz2…so I def got a trophy b4 release date for proof…and again graphics were great but I couldn't even get into the whole thing didn't even finish the game….try online and again wasn't my thing…if u guys going on graphics ok then yea cod isn't the best looking but I play for enjoyment and if you guys don't have fun with cod something wrong lol
