We always love quirky, promising games. Of course, the definition of "promising" is pretty subjective, but still…
We knew Square Enix and Airtight Games were working on a secret project together; it'll be officially unveiled at this week's PAX event. But the publisher has already delivered early details to GameSpot .
It's a downloadable game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC (Steam) called Quantum Conundrum , and it has been described as a "first-person puzzle platformer." That's not exactly surprising, considering that Kim Swift is working on the project; she's a former Valve employee who worked on another stellar first-person puzzle platformer: Portal . In Conundrum , we play as the 12-year-old nephew of an eccentric professor who has disappeared. We'll explore the professor's mansion and use "an interdimensional shift device to bend some of the basic rules of reality."
They give the example of entering the "fluffy dimension," where everything will become light as a feather, thereby allowing you to create new paths. Other dimensions include one that slows time, one that reverses gravity, and others. We'll definitely be interested to learn more about this one; it sounds like a definite winner.

This sounds awesome! I love the setting and the gameplay mechanics. BTW anyone else wanting a Mirror's Edge 2?
Mirror's Edge 2. Yes. Now.
Yes, me too
I loved mirrors edge but for some reason i know a lot of ppl that didn't like it and when I ask why they wouldn't explain why they would just say because i don't like it and that's it although i'm guessing that it's bc it's not a FPS shooter like Call of Duty since that's all they play
HAHAHA this is the big surprise announcement out of SE that partners with Kim Swift? Oh man… Square Enix you are ca-razy.
You're such a debbie downer.
I am? I take massive offense to that Sir!
I didn't play Portal, but if it was similar to Portal 2, then I'm interested in seeing what Kim Swift has to offer. Portal 2 was a unique experience and this puzzle game sounds like it may be just as good.
"I didn't play Portal, but if it was similar to Portal 2…"
I… I don't even
I don't either.
For some reason, I got the headline confused with a spell called Quadratic Continuum. It just happens to be a spell from another Square-Enix game… (FFXI, spell for Blue mages >.< )
Initial Reaction: Wow go go BLUs on FFXI!!!
sweet!
we dont have anywhere near enough puzzle games so its good to see another joining the ranks!
portal was pure gold so they have big shoes to fill!
I welcome with open arms any puzzle game made by anyone involved on either Portals bc they are great games
