Ni No Kuni PS3 Receives Japanese Release Date

Yeah, we know. Most of you haven't heard of the game. But believe it or not, we've seen several e-mails asking us to cover this one.

That's probably because JRPGs really are few and far between these days. Ni no Kuni launched last December in Japan for the Nintendo DS but this year, we heard Level-5 would deliver a PlayStation 3 version at some point. We've heard the upgraded version will boast an entirely new story, so we're interested to see how it turns out. The good news? We finally have a date…the bad news is that it's only for Japan. According to Andriasang , Famitsu has revealed that the promising, colorful title will be available on the PS3 on November 17. One could make a guess at a North American date based on this information, but we wouldn't recommend it.

But when and if it does arrive, we promise we'll deliver a review for Ni no Kuni . Evidently, some wouldn't be able to forgive us if we didn't.

I NEED this game. If it has subtitles or english audio I'm going to import it. I've heard nothing but praise for this game and my RPG fingers must have it.

Localize quickly Level 5! This game looks like a dream come true for JRPG fans. If it doesn't come stateside I'll be devastated.

Indeed. This needs to be localized. If they just did subtitles and menus in English, I'd still jump at it. Hell, I'll import the Asian region (not Japan) version if it includes English text and menus.

I personally think it won't take that long for Ni No Kuni to be localized. One reason is that Level-5 developed this game alongside Studio Ghibli, an organization famously known for making the most beautiful and imaginative films. Level-5 also made a poll on Facebook to see which of its games people seem to be most interested at. There were 9 to choose from and there was strong interest in two games. One was Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney (3DS) and the other was Ni No Kuni (PS3).

Ya I read about that yesterday. It looks pretty cool, I love the art style and the strategy. I'm telling you the Vita is going to surprise a lot of people.

I hope so. It is kinda sad though that I was forced to get my RPG fix this generation of gaming on the PSP and DS because the 360 and PS3 failed me.

With the recent opening of Level-5 International, the possibility of a North American port is looking up, especially if people are vocal enough to said company. I've been excited for Ni No Kuni ever since last year, and if memory serves me correctly there was some footage of the game in action released somewhere on the interwebz.

The game looks batty as hell, but utterly beautiful. I really hope that it does get localised.
