Ben-DutkaResistance 3 is coming. There's no stopping it now!
As announced at the PlayStation Blog , Insomniac says their new shooter has gone gold. The beta kicks off this week for those who purchased SOCOM 4 (everyone else has to wait a few weeks), and the game's launch date is set in stone for September 6.
Furthermore, they're packing the disc with a few bonus extras. We'll receive demos for several fantastic PlayStation 3 exclusive titles ( Killzone 3 , MotorStorm: Apocalypse , and inFamous 2 ), as well as multiple trailers and developer videos for other PS3 games. That list includes Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception , Starhawk , God of War: Origins , and SOCOM 4 . And it doesn't end there; you can also check out movie trailers and music videos, courtesy of Sony Pictures and Sony Music. What more could you ask for?
To get more involved in the Resistance 3 community, head on over to MyResistance.net . We're hoping for yet another stellar entry from the guys at Insomniac; typically, they don't know how to make mediocre adventures. It's not in their blood.

Head over the PS Blog, watch that trailer, and then say that. If you are referring to the MP, I can't comment on that. I take it you have experienced it first hand.
i have to agree with laxpro. i have not been that impressed with what i have see of r3 graphics so far. neither was the sixth axis. they were impressed with other things though and actually liked it very much. this may be a game that can overcome the graphics problem.

I'm watching someone play the Beta, the graphics in my opinion looks good.
Better graphics don't make a better game. Its all about storyline. Don't care if it has nintendo 64 graphics or even atari graphics, if the story's good I'm there and if I remember correctly all previous Resistance games was awesome, can't wait for this one.
I'm with Iron on this one.
LBP2 did that and it was not lack luster at all.
The near complete preview build has the game operating well below 720p. Sub-HD for a Ps3 exclusive is a bit of a surprise. That is, if it doesn't get upgraded for it's final release build.
Really? The videos I've seen make it look pretty good. Is it not better than the previous 2?
temjin is correct. no one has been impressed with the graphics so far and it well below hd resolutions. i am starting to wonder just how much effort did insomiac put in this game. no excuse for being sub hd this many years after the ps3's luanch. these guys have been coding on the ps3 for awhile.

Resistance 3 is a D1P for me can't wait.
Demos of old games, useless trailers…nice bonuses indeed, but I could careless for them. As for R3, I will probably just rent this…don't care for the MP and I don't care to have a 8hr FPS just sitting in my collection collecting dust.
i tend to agree with that. i don't think this game is going to do so hot. i notice whenever there is a r3 article on most sites there is not a lot of interest, and most of comments are either apathetic towards the game or just flat out negative. insomiac should have never let that crappy demo out the door. negative first impressions are hard to overcome.
It could even be Resistance probably doesn't have a strong fanbase. It has a fanbase indeed, but I'm not sure this is the type of sequel people are looking forward too. This isn't a MGS4 type sequel or CoD type sequel or UC3 sequal, it a sequel to a gaming franchise that imo has lots alot of appeal over time kind of like Call of Juarez. I liked Resistance 2, but just liking it and actually forgetting about this franchise after 3 years isn't making me excited for R3 release come September. And knowing Sony, this game will get no advertisements.
This out of the blue to the article but I'll say it anyways, but it seems some of the writers from Playstation magazine got in a mini firefight with a youtuber called DSP. Also Naughty Dogs youtube channel got shutdown from the crappy youtube system. this is what it said on Naughty Dogs channel – "This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube's policy against spam, scams and commercially deceptive content. " I guess it was because of Uncharted TV.
Who plays demos or watches trailers on a game disc anymore… seriously with the rise fo the internet it seems pointless nowadays.
agreed. this game is going to have to have some killer reviews since most were unimpressed with lackluster demo, and many did not like r2.
i often wonder why a company lets a poor demo out the door then tries to blame it on an old build. that is very damaging and creates way more negative buzz that is difficult to overcome.
I believe the demo's and trailers are for the non-internet-connected types.

I normally don't respond to ignorance but bro, seriously, stop trolling. All your post have been negative remarks on R3. The game speaks for itself. We don't need your slick remarks on how OTHER people feel about it. If the game really isn't doing it for you…okay fine, but stop trying to back up your opinions, with other peoples OPINIONS, thinking it's fact. If other sites are so adamant that this game will fail, I feel sorry for them. Go back to whatever site you came from because this is one is for the intelligent consumers who can think for themselves.
On a side not, regardless if the graphics are "sub HD", who really cares? Last I checked the highest selling game in history wasn't rendering anywhere near 720. The only thing that could possible hurt this game is the timing of its release, being that there are more "popular" shooters releasing around the same time.
What's really sad is that no one has even played the game and already everyone's crying bloody murder…my god. SMH!

sorry i offended you. i assure you i am not trying to troll. i am just noting my observations of people's comments on the game so far. please note that i did say above that this might be a game that can overcome the graphics and that i said the sixth axis liked it. i have read a lot of negative comments about the graphics and some about the game in general. that might be coming from impressions of the demo. i disagree that insomiac has never done wrong. most considered r2 a step back and even insomiac themselves said they made mistakes there. mistakes they sre addressing in r3 btw. the weapon wheel is back for instance. i think letting a poor demo out the door was a mistake as well.
i am a pretty big insomiac fan btw and own several of their games including the first resistance. i beat r2 as well while renting it. i am going to try to keep and an open mind about it but if final game ships sub hd, and with poor graphics…sorry there much better titles to spend my money on in the fall. again, i will try to keep an open mind. that's the biggest reason i'm on this thread. there are a couple of others on this thread who are saying the game looks good so i find that somewhat encouraging. maybe the complaints abpout its graphics are unfounded and it will be good enough game to overcome that even if the graphics are not the best. if that is case and it gets good reviews i will definely get the game.
btw, is there anybody here that has been playing the beta? i would love to hear from them. clamedues mentioned he saw somebody playing the beta, and it looked fine. anybody else seen it?

Uh Demos have been on game discs for a while now. I'm pretty sure the PSOne even had them.
Dead Space had a couple demos on it.

cant remember what game it was, but a game came with a demo of Armageddon staring bruce willis.
and one of the crash games if you entered a specific cheat code it unlocked a demo for spyro 2.
games have been coming with demos for donkeys years!
Those demos for games that are already out ? Most people will have them by now ok maybe one or 2 people dont but even so it's old demo's for games that have been out for some time.
I have a bad feeling about Insomniac, first they decide to go multiplat, and now all this negative vibe against R3… I'm still a fan of the Resistance series and think R3 looks great, I will get it no matter what but, I fear for their future as a developer… At least Sony can buy them on the cheap later :p

Alright enough. I call shenannigans. Every one here is either extremely paranoid (from a demo mind you) or have never played an insomniac game. Do u guys really think resistance 3 is gonna suck! I mean c'Mon guys. I've supported insomniac for nearly a decade. Every game they have made for Sony has been at least 80+ in reviews. Spyro 1-3 awesome. R&Cs track record speaks for itself. Resistance 1 and 2 were awesome. Regardless of the minor yes, minor flaws in r2 it still pulled reviews over 9. Now they bring back all the elements people went nuts over in rfom and u guys are still skeptical. The grim environments the weapon wheel as well as the crazy weapons they are notorious for and the smaller online matches. Graphics aren't everything guys. They've never done wrong yet so give the boys at insomniac a bone.
I'm not doubting Insomniac, I'm looking forward to the game. But some are because of reviews on other sites, I say wait and play it before you make judgement. I don't make my judgement on what reviews say, I played R1, and R2 so I'm definitely going to get R3.
Just saw the new trailer. Is say u fellas got nothing to worry about. Those cinematics look good dare I say comparable UC2.
This game looks great im planin on buyin it, but now off topic when will you give away beta codes for R3 , i was sure you give said you were giving some away i would love to win one i want to try the beta badly and i dont want to wait until the 23rd

Laxpro2001 you can't be serious man. Lackluster as compared to what??? Crysis 2 or Battlefield 3 running in DX11 on a six core processor and GTX590 powered PC??? I played the Res3 campaign demo, haven't played the mp beta yet but from what I've seen of it, it has some of the most superb and fluid animations and textures I've seen out of any console fps this generation. Sure there seems to be weak implementation of anti-aliasing but it is still an early build and could be fixed tremendously by the final release. Resistance 3 looks visually stunning overall, my friend. I don't know what you've been smoking lately, but it must be some pretty strong stuff. I think you're confusing your lack of enthusiasm for it's artistic style and aesthetic design as having lackluster graphics. You can't judge the technical quality of graphics on the basis of aesthetic preference.

one of this gens most under rated games!

Yeah, seriously… packed with old ass demos that can be found on the PSN that have been out for months already. oh joy. How is this bonus content? It's crap filler that can be found else where, MONTHS AGO. They think this will help sell a game that I'm starting to wonder will be all that good? Now I know why they made that god awful live action trailer months back for the game…to hide the sub-par graphics in-game. …still, I'll check it out and wait for the reviews. I'm glad the weapon selections are back…and life capsules…etc. we'll see.
