We can't wait for Assassin's Creed: Revelations but many fans have questions like, "what new stuff can we expect?"
Well, in addition to seeing "revelations" based around Ezio and Altair, along with a more fluid – and less "segmented" – approach to the mission structure, lead designer Alexandre Breault told NowGamer about another all-new feature: it's something about Desmond's "Black Room:"
For Desmond’s part, an important element of the gameplay will be him in the Animus and him trying to find a way out of the Animus cyber-world in the ‘Black Room’. And that’s providing us with a totally new setting. I can’t say what exactly that will be, but I can tell you that, since it’s all in the Animus, it gives us a freedom that we wouldn’t otherwise have.
It’s an opportunity to do something really interesting and introduce gameplay that could only be done in this fantasy environment. We’re taking this chance to create something totally new that will really surprise the player."
That oughta be interesting. We always felt that Desmond's character needed just a bit more fleshing out in the AC storylines. Also, make sure to read that part about how the team's Mocam technology has benefits that L.A. Noire 's MotionScan doesn't have; specifically, the ability to focus on the entire body rather than just the head.
I am psyched!! At the very least, AC fans like myself are fortunate that the annual releases that the AC series has had hasn't been a detriment to its quality. :S
Agreed! I see too many people give Assassin's Creed heat for having yearly iterations. While it's hard on the wallet and at times it DOES seem a tad bit like a cash grab, the series as a whole has evolved wonderfully. The amount of research put into making real life characters and locations is nothing short of astounding. The kill streak combos in Brotherhood really helped make the combat more fluid, and I'm looking forward to the zipline feature.
Then again, maybe I don't feel this way, being that Nothing is True…
Both you guys are completely right…Ubisoft hit gold with this franchise. AC is just plain awesome and its crazy how multiplatform games like this one are better than many exclusives (PS3 or Xbox 360).
Agreed. Annual installments are only bad when things become stale. AC continues to innovate, add, and polish. Still my favorite franchise this gen.
haha, someone must really hate the fact we like Assassin Creed.
might just be a bot. I wouldn't put too much stock into it. Doesn't change the fact that it's a freakin' sweet game. ;p
Damnit. I was hoping for something a bit more substantial. The Black Room is supposed to be made up of puzzles, or something along those lines, but I really want to know exactly what it's all about.
AC is one of my all time faves. Looking forward to this and AC3. It will be a sad day if AC hits the dumps
Im not really excited about this one. Im hoping they do AC3 next year and finish it up. Its a great game i don't disagree by any means…but how many more side stories could there be? As long as they don't go Kingdom Hearts on us i think will still be ok in the end.
P.S. S/E I want my KHIII still!
I'd like to see a less segmented approach to the herky jerky battles and to the cutscenes (the game still takes massive shortcuts by adding animus glitches instead of doing the work of moving characters in and out of buildings or carrying on a cut scene conversation) and a more fluid approach to free climbing and running about the city rooftops.

A more fluid approach to free climbing and rooftop running…..?
I'm sorry, I'm not sure that's possible. And even if it is, one of the main positives that almost everyone could agree upon in past entries is the extreme fluidity and effectiveness of that mechanic.
I find it stunted and fall-prone. Ezio needs to be more agile like Drake or even MacGrath for me to be able to stick with it. That's just me though, I know millions disagree.
I dunno…I'm not sure you're doing it right. I can count the number of times I've fallen in the Assassin's Creed games (all three of them) on one hand.
You know AC goes for a more realistic/arcade approach to climbing compared to Cole's superhero arcade acrobatics and Nathan Drakes arcade climbing/jumping. I like the fact that AC tries to be more realistic, but I don't find anything flawed with the system except the fact that your character sometimes just jumps off buildings to his death sometimes.
I agree with Ben, AC's mechanic is very fluid and very effective.
Ever see Drake try to jump for a ledge that is out of reach?
He's not -that- agile. :p
I loved brotherhood, but it feel short of AC2. it was far shorter and the story wasn't as good. This one looks good though.
I liked Brotherhood, considering it's somewhat hasty release, I found it to still be a decent continuation of Ezio's story.
Revelations had me rolling my eyes when it was announced but I had to say hang on because as it was Brotherhood didn't turn out too bad.
so basically more of what you unlock after finishing all the glyph puzzles in brotherhood?

Brotherhood was rather surprising in what it accomplishes story-wise. Even the added features to the gameplay. Having people join you as assassins was absolutely novel and highly entertaining. If I hadn't played it I probably wouldn't have been very keen on Revelations, but as it stands, the Assassin's Creed franchise remains one of the best and I'm more than willing to buy another one each year.
