We've seen cinemas and various pieces of footage before, but have you seen raw gameplay?
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is one of the most anticipated games of the year; role-playing fans are already drooling. The Oblivion aficionados are definitely on board but if you're a little skeptical, maybe you need to check out the following two minutes of gameplay. Is it about what you expected? Will this game be worthy of your $60 when it releases on November 11?
Oh, I'll be reviewing it. Don't worry. And I will once again do my damndest to fall in love with it. The Elder Scrolls is a franchise I should adore, given my RPG roots, and I've been telling myself that since Morrowind . But I've just never managed to lose myself in that large, compelling world…I'll try again when Skyrim arrives.
Related Game(s): The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
i will stick to uncharted 3 and arkham city
I'm already saying goodbye to another 4 months of my life.

Gorgeous, and so much more polished than Oblivion. Yep this is gonna be worth every penny and it's a guaranteed 100+ hours of adventure. This and Dragon's Dogma will slake my fantasy thirst for quite some time.
Dragons Dogma has really grown me. I loving the mythical beasts.
DEFINITELY the game I want most. WOW! The dragon animations look amazing. 11-11-11 can't come soon enough. =D
So far I see no reason to doubt this game. I will admit it looks like it plays like oblivion but to be honest that's a good thing in my eyes. The dragons look awesome and I personally can't wait for this one. I can see me putting in 250 hours into this one like I did Elder Scrolls 4.
it better play like oblivion or it ain't Elder Scrolls
It's suppose to be more in the vein of Morrowind. Both Morrowind and Oblivion are two of my favorite games of all time.
To tell the truth I played Morrowind so long ago I don't recall much of a difference.
Skyrim will be mine! *evil laugh* Bwahaha!
Heehee =)
I only got to watch maybe 30 seconds of the gameplay video before my phones video player crapped out on me, but in them 30 or so seconds I do believe ii may have poo'd a lil.
This game will be mine. Most likely for the pc though, depending on the required specs. But maybe, JUST maybe ill get it for ps3 when, and belive me and mark my words, it hits GOTY.
Id like to get it for pc though, for all the mods of course.
We need mods on consoles hardcore, i miss Dreamcast
The developers have said they are trying to incorporate mods into consoles this time.
If the devs are gonna incorperate mods into the console version, than ill most likely be going with a ps3 version of skyrim over a pc version.
Something about a controller over a keyboard. But I'm sure I can always use my designated xbox 360 controller for my pc like I do with l4d2.
But stillN if we gots the mods for console, ill go with console. Not much of a pc gamer anyways. Mostly cause I don't have a proper gaming comp. And also part that I've always played on consoles. Something about them just makes me feel warm and fuzzy, like days of old. Ya dig?
It's looking great. If I had $60 to burn come November, this game would top my list.
Probably my strongest contender for GotY.
Ahh I cant wait to fight the dragons in first person! Gameplay looks awesome. I plan to play Skyrim for months.
I'll stick to Dark Souls and WKCII, and wait for Skyrim GOTY edition.

Not a bad idea. I loved shivering isles expansion for oblivion.
I'm getting Dark Souls and Skyrim, along with WKC 1, and WKC2. 😀
It's Dark Souls,Skyrim, and Dragons Dogma, oh and also Rage those are my 4 sure buys.
Regardless of what this 2 min. Shows (I havnt watched it yet, prolly won't cus it won't play on my iPhone) the game is so much bigger than this. Tough to judge a 200-300 hour game by 2 min. Bet it looks polished though!
Edit: ok got it to play, and it looks amazing. A lot of stuff coming back from Oblivion but the new fighting animations look great. Can't wait to take down a dragon! Gonna be epic! How would this not be worth $60?

I'm trying to figure out if that was console footage. The graphics upgrade looks real significant.
That's what I was thinking too. I'm not sure
If it was console or not to be honest but it definitely has a noticeable difference In the amount of polish over Oblivion.

I think they almost always show PC stuff unless otherwise specified.
Probably right world.
Of course its going to live up to the hype and why? First of all its an ES game and secondly bethesda clearly understand what fans want…that being deep gameplay thats meant to keep people busy for hours.
That horse looked more like a mule.
Also, Dragon >>> Troll
maybe they are going for authenticity, people always rode the hearty beasts in the middle ages because they were cheaper and had an extra gait that the pretty horses don't have which allows it to run for hours.
Skyrim,Dark souls,Dragon Dogma…my wallet 🙁 and that's not counting uncharted 3,Assassins creed revelations, metal gear solid HD and ico & shadow of the colossus collection…
Damn, another game to add to the cost list… it does look good I have to say…
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
there goes that pension
I'm not hyped simply because I found Oblivion to be utterly boring. Just plain boring.
I'll get it though, simply for my love for the genre. But hyped? Nope. And that's a good thing. Cause maybe then I will become pleasantly surprised instead.
Never got into Oblivion or other open world first person RPG type stuffs but after seeing this polished gameplay it might be worth a shot… if I can manage the extra cash seeing as how every amazing title and its mother or competitor I should say is on its way relatively soon.
Kind Ben D.
Inmersion in a game or movie is really helped by a large screen image produced by a projector like the 300 lumen Qumi or the 500 lumen Optoma led 720p projector.
And a good Home Theater sound system also contributes by a very large margin to movie and video game enjoyment.
Could this be indicative of your avatar pic? If so, then that's beastly.
Yeah, none of that actually alters the game or movie or whatever's on the screen. Only the cosmetic and ambient effects.
Wouldn't matter if I had the best entertainment system in the world…I wouldn't have gotten into Oblivion.
Oh I think sound and video sure adds a lot to the overall gaming experience indeed. In my opinion surround is a *must*, I played Dirt3 at a friends house a while ago on his two channel stereo setup. That was dull compared to a surround setup.
That said, I fully agree with Ben regarding Oblivion.

Day one purchase for me and the gamelplay looks very impressive.
no.
its all well and good to have 100+ hours of gameplay, but whats the point if its as entertaning as Opra?
only fantasy styled RPG ive enjoyed this gen was Neir.
such a freaking awesome game that was, really took me back to the good old square soft days!
well that was till the witcher 2 came out, been stuck on it for weeks now cant get off it!
the world, the characters, the dialouge, the story…… FINALLY a fantasy RPG thats done right!
by far the most under rated game this gen!
Oh man you play The Witcher? It looks totally AWSOME for a fantasy rpg! Is it that good? Have you heard if it is coming to the ps3 too? I saw on gamerankings it's coming to the X360 🙁
absolutley, i LOVE the witcher 2!
have not played a RPG this good since, well KH2!
only game i can think of that ive played this gen thats perfect, not one single thing i would change about it!
they have not said if it will come to the ps3, only that its a possibility.
THQ are releasing it for the 360 at the end of the year.
though if you have a PC you have to play it on that, you should be able to run it on lower settings but to get the full out of the game you really need a good rig.
best part about it is the standard edition comes with so much kit, everything you normally find in a LE comes in the standard edition at the price of normal standard editions.
one game EVERYONE should play!
I don't know why but I found The Witcher 2 to be annoyingly boring and repetitive, but that's probably because I expected it to be an open-world rpg for some reason. I don't know what it is about games like Elder Scrolls but they just hit the right spot for me…
I have already told my girlfriend I'm not going to see her for a week I think that's the largest amount I'm going to be able to get anyway. She will be watching the new twilight that week anyway glad I will be missing that hailstorm!! Also the character animations in this game look nothing like oblivion and that is an extremely good thing
I had well over 100 hrs invested in Oblivion when my original 60 gig succumbed to the YLOD and I lost all my save data. A truly sad day and I've not had the motivation to plow through it again. I'll probably pick this one up, though. Looks quite good so far! Not sure the wife or job will approve of this purchase, though.
I have only three priorities above this game: Pregnant wife, five-year-old, and school. All else takes a back seat.
Video removed due to a copyright claim by ZeniMax Media…
I don't know why ZeniMax Media would care about the content of this, it's just a repeat of the trailer footage strung together isn't it?
I'll be picking it up at launch! You know how some couples sometimes make those lists of like, 3 celebrities or something that they'd allow their partner to sleep with if they happened to meet them? Well, in my list, ES: Skyrim is in there o_o
