Perhaps this will help bridge the gap between two very different cultures.
For the most part, very Japanese-centric titles don't do as well in the US, and Western-oriented games don't sell as well in Japan. But if we can raise awareness on both sides, maybe things will go more smoothly. Who knows?
As noted by DualShockers , Sony's World Game Project will kick off on July 23; it'll be hosted by "a mysterious spokesman named Mr. Murata" and it'll take place at the Akihabara85. That's a pretty nice club from what we hear. Anyway, the idea is to turn Japanese gamers onto some of the Western gems they don't seem to appreciate quite as much; some of the games on display will be inFamous 2 , Deus Ex: Human Revolution , Resistance 3 , and Shadows of the Damned .
And considering that the event has a "Vol. 1" tag, we have to assume that more such meetings in the World Game Project theme will take place in the future. Of course, we're wondering if we might see the reverse in this country… That's only fair, isn't it?
