If you plan on attending the Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles in September, you're going to need the ticket information.
Activision has released that today, along with this nifty event map that gives you a bird's-eye view of the complex. This $1 million tournament (with all proceeds going to the Call of Duty Endowment charity) features everything from a full-scale replica of a CoD multiplayer map – in which attendees can throw down with some paintball fun – to "AAA talent" that'll close out the proceedings.
Call of Duty XP tickets go on sale on July 19 at 10 a.m. PST, and you can find all the purchase info and map details at the official site . The ticket price is $150 and that covers both days; the cost of admission gives you access to all events and activities; you just have to pay for your own snacks. Oh, and they're not going to pay for you to travel there, either. It's an amusement park, really.
You must be 18 years of age and come with a valid photo ID and because Call of Duty XP will be filmed, "attendees grant permission to include their likenesses, images and voices in such filming." You'll also have to sign a release that frees up the organizers from any responsibility if you hurt yourself somehow.
Have fun!
I wouldn't mind running the obstacle course that was featured in MW2 in real life. It looked fun.
LOL at "you have to be 18". That eliminates 75% of the Call Of Duty audience right there. At least attendees won't have to deal with rotten little kids who were raised by lazy parents who use video games as a babysitter.
I would love to see some footage of this event online. I'll bet it will be good for some laughs.
I wish CoD's online was 18+ with a required valid photo ID. 🙁
I'm waiting to see some crazy bugs like I did from BO. Flying remote control cars, people shooting through buildings(not thin plywood), and someone hitting an opponent 6 times in the chest then the other shooting him once and getting killed.
That does sound neat though. Still nowhere near being remotely sold on MW3. It doesn't look appealing. But $150? No thanks.
The only reason it would be funny to let the kids in is so that those cocky little dimwits can be put in their place.
hahaha $150 no way in hell. I rather save up and by a new board for the winter.
Just another way for Activision to milk it's customers. I give this a giant "Who Cares!!!" The paintball sounds fun but not for $150. Activision and the COD series kind of reminds me of a drug dealer… No matter how greedy or how much of an a**hole they are, people just feed them money constantly!!! Damn CODheads. LOL
I hope they make some good money for charity, that way something good can come of Call of Duty.
