The rumored software launch list for the NGP appears to be accurate.
The first official confirmations have arrived and leading the pack is Uncharted: Golden Abyss : it'll boast an all-new story that isn't a sequel or "direct prequel" to the Uncharted franchise on the PlayStation 3. Bend Studio's creative director Josh Garvin said they spent a solid 6 months working on different plots for the game, and then pitched their ideas to developer Naughty Dog. The game will focus on a currently undiscovered "historical mystery" in Central America, and the gameplay will be more about puzzle solving.
They're saying the combat and overall control scheme will be "familiar" but of course, they'll take advantage of the NGP's unique capabilities (front- and rear-touch panels, tilt control, and cameras). In addition, Sony confirmed Wipeout 2048 , in development at Sony's Liverpool Studio. It'll offer cross-play with Wipeout HD Fury on the PS3 thanks to the NGP's cross-play feature. We'll also get fictionalized future versions of New York City, which will have wider tracks to allow for more fighting during races.
Lastly, Sony confirmed Little Deviants , Super Stardust Delta , Hustle Kings , Hot Shots Golf , and Jonathan Mak's Sound Shapes , along with an all-new title, Reality Fighters . The latter will utilize the NGP's augmented reality functionality, so that ought to be intriguing.
My guess for Golden Abyss is maybe an Atlantis type deal.
On topic the line up for the NGP, Vita, PSP2, whatever, sounds extremely solid. But where is the Ridge Racer?
Day One Purchase hardware and software. I'm *so* there.
If I haven't declared bankruptcy by the time the NGP and Uncharted: Golden Abyss comes out, I'd be on the pre-order queue as well. Haha!
I think it still depends on the price and battery life for me. There's enough PS3 games to last me till 2012. I can wait a bit.
Uncharted and Wipeout? I'm sold already. Tell me when I can place the preorder.
Oh, speaking of pre-orders. Be on the lookout for the Uncharted 3 Collector's edition, it has some awesome pack-ins. There is also a rumor of a Special edition which will have slightly fewer pack ins (or is it the other way around?). Also, as of right now, the pro-order bonus from Amazon seems like the best one.
the uncharted 3 collectors edition is listed on the psblog. it doesnt seem that special to me. the case is cool and the statue but i dont know. ill have to see how money is lookin at the time. the infamous 2 ce is a lot more value to me. while both statues of drake and cole look bad ass and it would be sweet to have the 2 of them standing next to each other. i dont care much about the ring on a necklace and belt buckle or whatever it was.
Not special? Really? The figure, belt buckle and Drake's ring? There is talk of a further special edition that includes a sound track and artwork book as well as the other merchandise. I'd love a soundtrack for the Uncharted games, and would spring for that version in a heartbeat.

the art book is there i forgot about that, its pretty cool lookin with a steel book case. as far as the necklase and beltbuckle they will just sit in the case for me as i wouldnt use that stuff. cool to show off but i really want the statue. i really would have liked to have the uncharted 2 ce. damn them for not letting the general public having that. finding one of those really is like a treasure.
Oh tell me about it, I saw one on Ebay and don't even want to imagine how much it eventually sold for. I know that they wanted to make those special, but they *really* missed a trick not having a collector's premium edition of the game.
I cannot wait. I'm wondering if there will be any online play. I think co-op might be cool.
Focus on puzzles? Fail for me.
Don't worry. They showed off stealth attacks and a rad first person snipe attack using motion controls. Shoot outs will be in it for sure. I'm figuring they'll be slowing the pace down a bit with the puzzles, just so we don't blow through stage after stage with memory/storage being precious.
Yah! Lighten up World!! =D
whats wrong world? you want to have strategy in your rpg's but you dont want to have to think to much while playing uncharted?
I'm interested in Uncharted for sure, maybe Wipeout and Super Stardust. Sound Shapes been getting some buzz too so maybe that as well. Come on E3! =^.^=
Next level, bro. 😀
infamous would be cool on the ngp.
i have to say this but im playing infamous 2 demo and the controls feel weird from the first. anyone see the movie theatres in the second mission?
assasins's need (love too)
Hey, low reach
little big unit
no need for speed
epic hickey
latch it and skank sly lol
then another one says From Croatia with Uncharted Love
Solid serpent the man, the movie
and finally call of bootie
Haven't downloaded the Demo, don't want to spoil my appetite for the game.
i was feeling the same way and was putting off trying it. i just said screw it i want to see. money is really tight and i dont know if i should spend the $100. played the demo and im spending the $100. i cant wait for next week its gonna be bad ass. i really liked what they did with the demo showing off some of the powers and such.
Well, my copy is on release day delivery from Amazon, so I have only a few more days to wait.
ive had mine on release day delivery since mid feb. just wasnt sure if i would have the loot
Those are the launch titles? Better yet, there's the SCE launch titles?! What the hell are other publishing companies going to have going for this beast from Day 1. Now THAT is how you launch a product!
I must as this Golden Abyss is the 1st title which has caught my attention, if it proves to be well developed I may even consider the console.
It's Sony Bend dude. IMO, Resistance Retribution remains to this day one of the best PSP games available. And with production being overseen by Naughty Dog themselves, I see little chance of this not being an unparalleled level of awesome.
more about puzzle solving?
THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one thing we need more of in games is puzzles!
what happened to the good old days where games were saturated in them?
one of my biggest gripes with GOW3 was the puzzles, 1 and 2 are infamous for them but 3 had barely any!
the staircase of hades will ALWAYS be remembered in video game history!
GOW3 though, well what is there to remember?
its like a hotel in Germany everything so nice clean and efficient, but you dont go there you go to Italy or spain or somewhere else, because it has that flair, that something that you will remember forever!
When i went to Germany i thought it had flare…
Sony, I was sold from the moment this beast was first shown off to the world. I don't need to know anything else about the NGP other than the price and its time of arrival!
Day one for me, already saved enough for it ($1 a day since the thing was announced), can't wait!
