In the latest episode of the Kojima Productions podcast – as summarized at Andriasang – the Metal Gear Solid guru answers a few questions point-blank. Firstly, many think Kojima and Co. will bring MGS5 (if there is an MGS5) to the Xbox 360, as Metal Gear Solid: Rising is multiplatform and third-party exclusives are almost non-existent these days. But when asked if he would show up at Microsoft's E3 press conference, the answer was "no." He also says he won't unveil MGS5, the Rising release is not November 1, 2011 (it shouldn't arrive until next year) and most importantly, Kojima is planning something special for the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid .
That anniversary is next year…what do you think he'll do? Any brilliant ideas from the fans?
MGS collection with MGS5 trailer is my guess.
I'd prolly pay $60 just for the trailer.

I also read a rumor that Rising has been passed to Kamiya/Platinum Games. May be the reason he seemed upset. Or perhaps the fact that MGS5 will be multiplatform is that's upsetting and that he may have to scale it down and not fit his vision. MGS5 better be on 5-6 DVDs for the 360.

my theory is the reason hideo was upset was becuase sony announced that psp remastered games would brought over to the ps3. hideo wanted to surpirise everyone at e3 that peacewalker would be brought over to ps3, but now the cat's out of the bag and everyone is expecting it.
remember that stroke of genious in mgs2. you know how the game fakes you into believing you will be playing as the legendary solid snake to only give us sissy boy raiden complete with what appeared to be bleached blonde hair, okay, forget i mentioned it, but the unofficial playstaton mag nearly had me in stitches with it's homoerotic themes playing out in it's back pages. snake was ofter reffered to as snakeypoo. raiden would get real upset if meryl called. i have a lot of found memories of the unofficial playstation mag.

Methinks he was upset because the NGP specifications were toned down, which didn't do well for his MGS game on it.
There is no indication that an MGS5 is coming ever. I'm guessing it'll be the Peacewalker HD upgrade for PS3.
MGS: Peace walker (MGS5) coming the the PS3 is a great bet. I'm hoping for this one because the remakes we all want are unlikely.
I'm hoping for a MGS 1, 2 and 3 remake 😀 But being a year away It won't be enough time for the remake I want with Amazing PS3 quality graphics, new voice acting with the same exact storys.
Unless they already been working on the remake(s) I don't see any remake happening..
P.S. I don't want to see any MGS game on any thing but the PS3. It's been a PS exclusive for a while now and the Man him self doesn't want to put the game on multiple disks and hold back any on the game he original wants by under powered consoles.
Agreed! If the remakes aren't going to be PS3 exclusive, don't remake 'em at all.

I never thought FF& could get any better. But just putting Kojima's name on it would take it to a new level.
Create a MGS2 remake and you can consider me about as happy a camper as the camper leaving the camp site. Because after all a camper who doesn't actually camp is the happiest camper of all. But aside all of that MGS2 is by far my favorite entry in the series.
A HD collection of every MGS game, including hand-helds and the old metal gears.
hmmm… Hard to say. Could be a lot of things. I've always wanted a full blow remake of MG1 and 2 and I mean full blown AAA exclusive. If Kojima is in charge I doubt his track record will fail us now. This should be good.
This is what I hope for, but not what I expect.
I just want to move on. Peace Walker was a great swan, as was MGS4. Kojima wanted to let it go time and time again. We should be prepared to do the same. I have every single game ever released.
I don't want anymore and I especially don't want Kojima's series to be tainted which has already started to happen with Rising. A multiplat title being developed with the majority of creative control not his. I don't want any other games with a context like this. I just don't.
Kojima has too powerful a mind and deserves to explore what he defiantly can. Other projects.
That's exactly what I'm always on about with Santa Monica and God of War IV. While I'll definitely get that game, I just think they need to not be tied down by it or start to mess up the brilliant series.
If the company doesn't follow his vision of "keeping it Playstation Exclusive" then I think he and Sony need to start discussing a partnership. Kojima is definitely one of the best game developer minds out there.
It's not about on and only playstation though. it's about purity of vision, of concept. of seeing through something meaningful. not just a game but something which will last, which the metal gears have and will. if the next meaningful mgs game was on something other than playstation I would get it on that.
no one can defend rising to me that it has this clarity of vision to me, no one. it's raiden, now on all platforms. ninja style. with the natural disasters to boot it's no wonder kojima is depressed.
its morely likely a HD compilation and MSG4 all bundled into one package.
Maybe including MGS4 Trophy Support this time around?

I'm really hoping it's remakes of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake using the current engine, but seeing as that's starting two whole new games entirely from scratch, it seems kind of unlikely. One can hope though!
A thought just occurred to me. Metal Gear came into the world less than a week after I did. A good year indeed!

If Hideo is trying to celebrate 25 years of an awesome franchise, you have to assume its the Ps3 remake of 1-3, you just have to. It makes the most sense, more sense over an MGS5. If its either of those however, D1p without a doubt

Hideo has been in a slump since the earthquake in Japan. His Tweets have taken a dark and somber tone since the devastation. He seems lonely and almost lost sometimes. Then he would turn around and Tweet something random about his meal or something. Like he is trying to distract himself. I hope he is not depressed. I worry about the guy. It may show in his work. Although some artists create their best works in times of struggle it pains me to think that someone may be suffering. Kojima is a Genius and I would hate to see him lose his edge. He is young and has yet to reach the peak of his career.
For the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary I would like to see all of the above but MGS4 Trophy support always gets to me for some reason. I guess we will have to wait and see.

MGS remake/ overhauled HD rerelease. I hope that it's not a new MGS-related project unless it is a Rising-esque spin-off.

peace walker and MGS5 are not showing up, so im guessing something for the 3Ds.
ZOE3 would be nice but hes said hes had to put that on hold for his "taboo" title.
thats probably what hes had to can, hes taboo titles hes been working on for a while.
if he can make the peace walker onto the ps3, i will be in heaven. i repeatedly said, peace walker is the true MGS5 that should have been made for ps3 in the first place, cuz it talks about the boss and the big boss, which is the true and biggest hero and heroine in the entire story, one is the legendary soldier and the last child of the philosophers, and one is the founder of outer heaven and patriots

Anything that Kojima announces is something to mark in the calendar. Anything he announces that he himself says is big, well, that's almost a call for a worldwide celebration.
