Ben-DutkaIt appears Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have another winner on their hands.
L.A. Noire has rocketed to number one on the UK sales charts, and it has the distinction of being that region's fastest-selling new intellectual property to date. Overall sales were almost the same as last year's Red Dead Redemption but technically, RDR is not a new IP, even if it was far more popular than its predecessor, Red Dead Revolver . L.A. Noire knocked last week's #1 – Brink – off the top spot; Splash Damage's shooter suffered a 48% decrease in sales. LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean remains popular in the #2 slot and The Witcher 2 debuted this week in the top five. Oh, and the ever-present Call of Duty: Black Ops still managed to crack the top ten…because it's Black Ops .
We're happy to see L.A. Noire hitting the charts hard, and we look forward to seeing how American gamers responded to Team Bondi's gem.

It really deserves it. It is such a great game.
I wonder how many people bought it, opened it, realized it wasn't anything like GTAIV or RDR, and returned it…just saying. I personally love this game and it deserves these sells. I have a friend who plays nothing, but GTA, AC, NBA 2K, and CoD…yet he is enjoying this immensely. I told him, if you enjoy a game like LA Noire…you should try true gems like Bioshock, ME2, etc…but I guess those games don't have the same charm. Let him try MGS4…dude never passed act 1…lol. Guess Rockstar can make a "casual mature" game…thats the way I see it and I like it.

58%/42% Sales split in favour of the 360. What's going on here? Good to know that it's going well though.
Maybe it is the PSN hack issue rearing it's ugly head in the form of lower PS3 game sales. I hope not because this is the true purpose of a console. To sell games.
If you think about it though 58/42 is not that bad if the hack is what is actually causing this sales difference.
Multiplats will sell greater numbers for 360 because it's all they have. PS3 owners have more choices.
Black Ops STILL in the top 10 *sales* chart? That's… Insane! One should have guessed that absolutely everybody who had an interest in the game would have it by now… And it's not even in the bargain bin yet. That is *crazy*.

yeh thats what i thought but over hear it has dropped in price and u can pick up for 25 quid now instead on 40
That's still too much money for that piece of crap.
Glad to see an excellent game on the top of the sales charts. Hopefully it stays up there for as many weeks as RDR did.

Its' awesome to know that a game like La Noire is getting the recognition in deserves.
Unfortunately, I'm low on cash at the moment and won't be able to support the cause… 🙁
