Modern Warfare 3 Launch Date Leaked: November 8

Geez. When they finally announce this sucker, what are they gonna tell us that we don't already know?

Now it seems we even have a release date for the yet-to-be-officially-announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 . The upcoming blockbuster from Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Raven Studios has already been brought into the limelight via tons of new details and a teaser trailer . But now, according to Kotaku , we have even more info and a launch date: November 8. We learn a ton of cities – including New York, London and Paris – will be involved, the story will be a direct sequel to MW2, we'll get plenty of vehicles (like the AC-130 gunship), and new characters, like "Frost" and "Sandman," are a-comin'. Oh, and if you couldn't guess, the multiplayer will be huge, with plenty of maps and two types of Spec Ops modes: Survival and Mission.

It seems obvious that MW3 will be revealed in the coming days. Nobody will be surprised in the slightest.

I said it before when it was first said to have three studios developing. This game could really turn out to be innovative. It sounds like they are actually concentrating on making this a great single player experience.

Notice how the launch dates of the games decrease every year? It is not even going to be a year since the launch of Black Ops. Antivision is stepping its game up. In a couple of years, we will start seeing a new COD every 6 months.

It's one day earlier. Yeah, they're flooding the market. Get real.

If they're aiming for the second Tuesday of November every year, wouldn't that make sense? I'm guessing Tuesday, November 13, for 2012's iteration.

They could launch the game on Wednesday. At least that way, it would be a year since the previous launch.

Sadly all the Cod fans are going to start acting like this will be vastly improved and different.

Hate to break it to you, but they always make it sound like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread and yet it turns out to be nothing new.

well i thought the jump between cod4 and mw2 was quite big in terms of what they added…..but between mw2 and black ops not so much…..as for w@w i try not to speak about that fail

In regards to MW 2, I beg to differ.

Multiplayer was 2 steps forward but single player was a step back and a bit of a disappointment compared to CoD4.

I'm just interested in seeing how well this game turns out with the two major players no longer tied to the project. 3 studios will either make it an incredible experience with 3 times the amount of gameplay of MW2, or it will be a complicated mess of ideas and gameplay types all jumbled together. Am actually interested in seeing a review for MW3.

I won't be buying it though. My money is on Uncharted 3, Star Wars the old republic, twisted metal in October, resistance 3, the last guardian, Battlefield 3 and Team ICO collection.

All those mp maps is certainly something MW does right. Beats me what EA was thinking with MoH. You can't just slap a gun in someone's hands and throw them into a map thinking it's going to be great. Give it a little thought. Take some time and DESIGN a proper map. So few developers get it right. Thing is, with IW's brains pulled out, will MW3 still deliver the goods?

I can kind of already see people buying into the hype. My recommendation is not to buy into the hype, and have low to none expectations going into the game (assuming they're getting it). After all, look at what happened with the hype then aftermath of Black Ops.

Yes it's fun to play with friends, but after awhile it gets pretty boring, unless you try to spice it up. But even then sometimes doesn't help.

The week after Uncharted 3? Sad really. Personally I rather hope that Naughty DOg brings their game forwards a week now, give the market two weeks to soak up gaming dollars, keeping them from MW3.

That does suck a little. I must say though since PSN came back I've put atleast 5 hours into Uncharted 2 mp, and there's nothing else like it. ND did something amazing with it and if there was some way to get those COD addicts to try something different Uncharted 3 could be the PS3' online gem! Although we already know it is. I can say that being a fan of the COD series as well!

COD is unworthy to be sold within the same month as uncharted 3!

Don't forget it'll also be a week after Battlefield (if my memory serves me correctly) and only three days before Skyrim. If this date is correct and MW3 still manages to sell extraordinarily well, that'll be the straw that breaks the camel's back in regards to my faith in humanity. It's already been shaken to the core…

for me uncharted sp is epic but mp wise i dont think its suited

TheHighlander

Well, Uncharted is IMHO well suited to online play, but it's not a straight shooter, so it's different, and clearly it's not a squad based shooter so it will not match CoD. But as a multi-player version of the gameplay in Uncharted, I think it meets the expectation well.

this is just a rumor, gamestop leaked allot of release dates for several games this year.
the tomb raider reboot for examples supposedly set for dec 16th, but i cant remember the last time a game released in december.
especially a reboot, and a old unproven game like TR.

Heh… IGN has a picture of a poster from a store here in Australia with the date of release on it. Talk about jumping the gun… the thing isn't due out for another six months. Market penetration, man… Craziness. That being said, it could still be wrong, but the odds for that aren't good.

Wow so you guys haven't stopped hating on COD? Honestly its not a yearly thing to me its a 2 year thing considering I didn't buy Treyarch's W@W and Black Ops, I prefer IW and their MW. I buy Fifa every year it doesn't bother me, its no big deal if some people also buy COD yearly and for the record Fifa has never gone down the drain because of saturation, folks still buy it, same could apply to COD.
