I rarely play multiplayer-based games but man, I had a ton of fun with Warhawk .
And now, it appears Starhawk is nigh. Check out this new developer diary , which sheds some light on the very cool working atmosphere at Lightbox Interactive. Plus, there's one shot where the name "Starhawk" is seen reflected in the TV… Did they mean to do that? There are also a few screenshots and what should be the first official details: yes, it's set in space, there will be planets involved in some capacity, mechs will be featured (oooh, transformer-like things?), and the return of vehicles has been confirmed. It's exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and chances are, it'll be officially revealed on GTTV in just a few hours.
By the way, we see Sony Santa Monica's name on there. That's one studio that really likes to put its name on great games, huh?
Related Game(s): Starhawk
Well… there ya go. I'm guessing SM are helping out Lightbox here, as they did Incognito before them. That would certainly help to explain some of those programmers and such as that they were looking for. Starhawk should be good, but doesn't really interest me. Still, at least it'll be another (top) notch in the PS3 exclusive library.
Peace.
So it's been confirmed.

Looks and sounds pretty good to me. Loving the apparent SP focus.
I am so excited! I barely play online, but I played the hell out of warhawk. I hope it turns out awesome. Also question why show it before e3? What else does sony have in store?
The last guardian
Agent
NGP stuff
2nd gen move titles
maybe heavenly sword 2/The getaway 3 (wishfull thinking)
and other stuff i'm sure!
Sony announced pretty much everything anyone could think of before last year's show, then blew everyone away with Twisted Metal. Considering this is the first leak remiscent of that, I'm guessing they've got something else huge hidden up their sleeve.
R* are skipping E3 this year, so i seriously doubt agent will be shown.
for crying out loud when are they going to show us it?
it was announced 2 freaking years ago for crying out loud!
shame MP3 wont be there either, i wish remedy kept the rights to it.
if they did it probably would of been out by now!
R* are turning into $E.
announce a game show nothing, announce another game show nothing, announce another game show nothing.
then maybe 3+ years later we finally see some info for the first game!
Considering how long it took Remedy to get Alan 'Wait' out the door, I doubt MP3 would be ready by now. Sucks to hear that R* won't be at the big show. Two years in a row now they've skipped.
only took them so long because they were designing a whole new engine, lighting system, animation, physics, they bit off allot, too much for such a small studio like theres!
if they had the rights to MP3 it could of easily been ready to release soon.
if we keep waiting on R* were going to be waiting till chrissy 2013!
Warhawk was one of my first PS3 games, it was 3 solid months of non-stop awesomeness for me.
Did Warhawk have a disc release?
Indeed, I'm not sure if it's also available on the PSN store or not. I really don't remember.
But yes it was a disc release.
By the way I didn't thumb you down.

It was available via download or disc and the disc version came with a free headset. Fancy!
I think I only saw it as a download, that's why I asked. I guess I get a downthumb for not being in the know on it, lol.
THe disc version didn't really come with a "free" headset. THe game on PSN launched new at $40 (that's what I spent) The disc based game came with a bluetooth headset for $60.
Basically, everyone got a $20 headset with the disc game.
Let's not get into an argument about the meaning of "free" again.
;D
Odd, everywhere I saw it for sale it was $40 in stores too.
I bet some stores were just trying to sell it for more to make some extra money.
/me raise hand
Ahem! Now, I'd like to say a few words about the use of the word "FREE" here… 😉
(lol!)

I love epic space battles,i think its the sheeznit.
Count me in !
Mass Effect?
I'm looking forward to some solid info and some gameplay vids. I have some high hopes for this game and I'm hoping they do it right.
nice!
This game looks promising, need to get more details about it. I love Santa Monica!
I really enjoyed Warhawk, and I think this new Starhawk is looking hot, hot, hot!
cannot wait for this. loved warhawk, was such fun, hopefully if theres space battles and ground it'll be a good alternative to battlefront 3
Great point! Too bad we won't have droids or stormtroopers though!
I'm still hoping for a Battlefront 3 though!
Hehe – I do not think it is fair to compare those two. 🙂
My prediction is that the Starhawk gameplay will be much like the space maps of the last Unreal game.
Warhawk's first 2 years was unbelievable. Bought all the expansions and really enjoyed the real-time war feel of the game.
It's the first game where I truly felt like I was in a war. But in a fun war, not one where you die with 2 shots and just respawn again. You could use all kinds of weapons, vehicles, and aircrafts.
The few images I've seen look amazing, this will be a great game!
32 players FTW (feel the war).
To bad BF3 PC game, online will be 64 players.

Oh yeah? MAG is 256!
But seriously, the number doesn't really matter. The FEEL of the game is what I'm talking about here.
Warhawk was fun because you could do absolutely everything. You could get into a tank when you wanted, an military aircraft, you could just run and gun, snipe, use turrets. It didn't limit you like most realistic war games do. You spawned where you wanted and just did what you felt like doing. You got the taste of war in any and all situations possible.
Just saw the episode. Theres a weapon wheel and you could also built buildings, and upgrade them like a RTS. The planes could turn to Mechs.

Sounds exactly like Unreal (the game) to me…! Although that would not be any big surprise, Warhawk was practically speaking Unreal with different maps.
Still, it's a fun game indeed!

oh great!
I hope there is a single player campaign like Socom 4 had.
YES, yes!!! I loved Warhawk! I can't wait for this game! I'm soooo excited! I been excited for the rumurs but now I know it's really coming, I'm going to prep a spot on my shelf and save 60 bucks for it right now!
:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Warhawk-the best launch title EVER! still on PS3's top 10 exclusive list in my book.
LOVE the enthusiasm, but Warhawk wasn't a launch title. It released in August of 2007.
