New Multiplayer Info For Revelations

While Assassin's Creed will always have a heavy emphasis on the single-player, last year's Brotherhood introduced a new multiplayer option.

It was refreshing and went over relatively well with fans, and Ubisoft plans to expand upon this feature in the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Revelations . Now we've got a few more details : in addition to more customization that will let players "represent themselves" more, they've added Playlists. Plus-

While I'm not a big fan of being forced to go online to see more of the story, it's always nice to see expanded and improved features. If you enjoyed going online with friends in Brotherhood , chances are, you'll have a great time when Revelations drops in November. Still, we recommend going through the story first because that remains the primary focus of this franchise.

Well i personally have loved the story in the AC games. The multiplayer is ok, but the story by far drives the game. I supposed the multiplayer is kinda like a dlc for story in the sense it will "unlock" more of the story….kinda like dlc will let you play more aspects of a story or expand or just add to the story.

I am looking forward to this game. Will most likely be a day 1 buy for me

Has to be better for you than Aperture Science kool-aid..

Then again, what is best for you isn't always best for humanity.

There is so much science to be done.

Other than getting to max level, they're not that difficult. You may have a harder time just finding an online match. Never could figure out why there were so few playing. It's actually really good online.

I didn't get AC: Brotherhood. I thought the story would be too short or it wouldn't match up to a full numbered sequel.

Apart from the multiplayer, is the single player campaign worth getting Brotherhood for? Or should I just stick to replaying AC1 and 2 and save my money towards better games?

The campaign is really worth it,not gonna spoil anything but the ending is very important to understand everything thats going on.

Wow, thanks guys.

If I find it for under $50 AUD (yes, games are stupidly expensive here in Australia) I will definitely pick it up.

With LA Noire and Infamous 2 coming pretty soon, AC Brotherhood might have to wait for the July / August lull though.

I think I'm at the end of Brotherhood. The last few sequences have felt pretty choppy and rushed, or something. Maybe it's a lack of DVD storage space, or limited dev time. Anyway, it's still a cool game. But maybe AC2 was compositionally a bit more sound.

A cape should always make someone fly in my opinion, it's just boss to wear a cape.

BUT, did you get 100% Synch on every Memory, including all optional memories?

In other words, does it say 100% complete when you load up your game? 😉

100% In ACB!! You'd Have To Be Mad! My Current Stat In AC2 Is 99.29 Only Missin Sum Feathers. I Just Didn't Feel Like Going Though All That Side Stuff Again So Soon Stoped ACB At Like 53%

WTF?
I don't want to be "FORCED" into MP mode just to unlock any of the story.

Wow, way to go Ubi, shafting the "SP only" players

Wouldn't even worry about it. Give it a few days after release and you'll be able to find any story snippets from MP online somewhere.

I'm sure it's just going to be similar to what Bioshock 2 did. Nothing to start shooting up over.

no, just crappy sequels who try to change the series.
ACB,LBP2,DS2,GOW3 for example.
for once can we have a sequel that feels like a sequel, and not a new IP?

Lairfan

Look at sequels for what they are dipsh*t. None of those sequels you listed changed much at all about their basic gameplay or their series in general (except AC:B, and they only added things that improved the game). You're just being a drama queen about it because you think these are "your" series, and you think that even a minor change in structure is a bad thing. Seriously, pretty much all those games you listed except AC:B added minor changes, not major "series-ending" changes like you always complain about.

If you can't learn to differentiate between the two (minor and major changes) go play Splinter Cell: Conviction. That game is easily 1000X more of a series-changer than any of those games you listed are.

really?
so AC going from a mainly action orientated game to hardcore stealth is no change?
in AC2 every god dam mission is about beating the sh*t out of guards!
almost every ACB mission is about killing guards without being seen.
only missions AC2 had that you would fail if seen was the last missions in rome.

going from strict platforming, to hopping on a bunny and letting him do the work for you is not changing anything?
you had to climb to get somewhere in LBP, in LBP2 you just grab a jetpack and it does the work for ya.

changing from a claustrophobic restricted hallway to a open room is not a change in DS2?
in the first it was so easy to get overrun, you could not freaking move you were surrounded by necromorph.
in the sequel you can just turn around and run, if theres a few behind you just run to the right, if theres any there just run to the left.
the original was mostly in corridors so you could only go forward or back, but the sequel is so much more open its nigh on impossible to get surrounded.

GOW3 changed the most!
what happened to the brutality of the series?
wheres the GOW3 version of the stairs of hades?
or pandoras room where as soon as you run in a timer ticks off and you have a very small amount of time to kill every enemy otherwise the floor opens and you fall to your death?
GOW1 and 2 were so hard it took me ages to finish them, i still have not finished them on the hardest difficulty.
i finished GOW3 in a heartbeat, and had no problems finishing it on the hardest difficulty.
hell, i even got the plat for GOW3 but for the first 2 im less then half way through!
not to mention what happened to all the puzzles?
theres more to GOW then gore, graphics and action.
sadly stig seemed to forget that making GOW3.
o, not to mention the story SUCKED!
GOW 1 and 2 had quite a good story, 3 on the other hand………..

Brotherhood brought the AC gameplay to another level. 2 was a great start, but all the crazy stuff in Brotherhood is like nothing else out there. Revelations should be just fine if you ask me.

I like the sound of these details. Hopefully the voting system makes it easier and faster to get into matches, and I'm curious about the extra story and the things that will be parallel between single and multiplayer.

Also, Ben, I don't think they're trying to force you to play the multiplayer to get the full story at all. I just think they're adding incentive to play it for the people who always complain that multiplayer is just instant gratification with no point to it all whatsoever. At least with more narrative it'll feel like it has more of a purpose in the overarching storyline.
