I was a big fan of The Darkness and I've been looking forward to a follow-up effort.
Today, 2K Games has announced that the long-awaited sequel has finally received a release date: The Darkness II is set to launch on October 4 in North America for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Like the first title, this won't be your standard everyday shooter; players will assume the role of Jackie Estacado, the wielder of Darkness, "an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction." You may have heard of dual-wielding but have you ever heard of Quad-Wielding…? It'll let you "slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies using ruthless Demon Arms, while simultaneously firing two weapons." Man, that sounds complicated .
I still remember sending out those arms to stealthily kill unsuspecting enemies; that was a freakin' blast. As for the story, Estacado exacted revenge on those who killed his girlfriend in the first title; in the sequel, Jackie continues to suffer from haunting visions of his lost beloved and amidst it all, he's locked in a "full-scale mob war." Oh, and the Darkness wants to escape…

Was that any good? I always thought that they said it was a miss. I'll have to add that to my list of games to try.
It was pretty good at the time. Had fun with it. You can get it for like $8 now..
Man, this was one of the games I used to play when I had a Ps3 but no online… This game was pretty fun if you ask me, it was actually kind of scary. Especially if you play it in the night. Im treepyalking about The Darkness of course.
This game is *definitely* on my radar. Loved the first one, great atmosphere and the character is a lot of fun to play, the special abilities are quite genuine to this game, no other game is quite like it.
Been waiting for this forever too. Was a little worried that they wouldn't make a second one after I finished the first. Bout to go check out the trailer. First one was good in my opinion. I liked the environment and the lighting was on point in my opinion.

The first game was terrible, but I have some hope for the sequel.
I gotta start asking, what made the game so horrible?? As you can see from my first post, i miss out on games based on the claims of others.
its definitely a love/hate game you either liked it or not, but imo its deff worth getting, i loved it…and itll be really cheap now
the game was boring thats what kinda killed it for me …but gameplay was cool …atmosphere was creepy…i just wished it was more going on …
The first game was great IMO. It was and still is a pretty unique FPS, and from what I've seen of the sequel (aka that teaser trailer and the screenshots), its gonna be on my radar come this fall.
The Darkness was great.
So unique too.
Anyway, for those of you who never got to fear a bit of "The Darkness" for yourslelves, here ya go
