Um…was this not suppose to be there? I liked it for the 2 secs it was up…just refreshed the page and it was gone…oh well
Oh yeah cant wait for this one….Loved the first (and expansions on the PC), the 2nd was cool but they put more action and less true scare in there. I have a feeling 3 will bring it back to its roots. Heres to F.E.A.R. 3!

Agreed – it's easier to scroll the entire webpage than to scroll inside a tiny frame. It's still scrolling, only worse.

Plus the comments are not easily searchable, so no fast way of jumping to specific comments. Nah – good initiative but bad idea. 🙂

I kinda like the scroll bar:) It makes replying to post easier b/c you can see the original post and your new reply post at the same time.
There has to be at least some people here that like it.
I haven't had the time to finish Fear 2. Just too many games and not enough time but this trailer makes me want to finish it. Have to bump it up a few in the back log list. Fear 3 seems like it'll have a solid story behind it..
I happen to like the scroll bar look. I'd rather scroll down in the comments then to scroll the entire page..just sayin..

I might..just literally too many games I'm juggling..Have a lot of time put into Mortal Kombat and have squeezed in Metal Gear Solid for the 8th time..Been playing Vanquish, Singularity, and just received Crysis 2 today…if I could only take 2 weeks vacation from work….
Damn those are all good games….well, take ya time! And all except Crysis 2 and MK are online too so good deal on the SP campaigns. No need to reply on this and waste time, you have alot of gaming ahead, so…. ENJOY!

It's really better..people just don't like change..
For example..instead of copying a post you're replying to just to remember what somebody said..you can now easily scroll the comments..
The days of scrolling entire pages is starting to get a bit Stone Agish…
I'm with limited, no thank you on the new scrolly system. Old scrolly system much better.
You can easily scroll the comments like it was before.
I love change, I love it so much I rearrange my livingroom almost every other month. Not all change is good. This being one of them, I hate it and I'm not alone.

You are as mistaken as mistaken can get. This is horribly worse. Not just bad, it is f'n bad. You are right that people don't like change but this is far from a good change. When you make it to where people cannot view comments or even post them, how in the he** is that a good thing and how could this be considered better? Try viewing these pages from a smartphone now and see just how 'better' this sukbar is.

I'm not mistaken..It's my opinion and what I think. Just because some don't like the new lay out doesn't mean it's bad. They didn't make it so that you can't view comments or post to them. I have no problem doing so and apparently you don't either as were able to click the Reply button and respond to my post.
Um..maybe you should be viewing the mobile site if you have that much of a issue with it from your smart phone. Just sayin..It really isn't as bad as people make it to be.
I couldn't stand the first fear so I didn't play the second one. I found the first one more frustrating and infuriating than anything. And as for fear, no didn't feel any of that while playing, just annoyed.

New scrolling comments are not in my particular taste. So I'm hoping your big new thing is not this.
i like horror games so i thought i'd try the fear games. those games are some pretty nasty ps3 ports. the first game had chugging framerates plus it looked somebody smeared vasiline accross my tv screen. the second wasn't a lot better. i will keep an eye on fear 3 anyways becuase i like horror games. hopefully they will make a better effort this time around.
We're looking into the Reply button issue, but I've forwarded along the negative feedback. If you don't like it, maybe it just won't be here. 🙂

I've fixed the reply bug.
As for the scrolling, we're not stuck on using it, but the idea is to make it so people not interested in comments don't have a million miles to scroll on the page. We're going to try it out for a while and see how it goes.

with all due respect i understand the logic as to the reason. it does dramatically shorten pages with lots of comments. in my opinion though it feels to small of an area for one. a link to the bottom of the page to post a comment maybe at the end of the article might go over better.
im just not liking it.

Well, I can tell you it's not related to this at all.
I just added an option to disable the new scrolling feature.
It qualifies as a big sack of shit!
i dont see how to disable it. i see the buttons but when i click them it does nothing. i get no change and cannot get it to go back. not sure it if is just me.

I tried that one too, but really didn't notice anything happening/changing when I did so.
Frylock, I just clicked on the words "toggle scrolling" itself, & now the scroll bar is gone.

The toggle is amazing!!! All is right in the world again (except for that pesky PSN being down).

yea see i have been clicking it. every time it just moves me back up to the top of the page with no change. i have tried it in firefox and internet explorer. neither one changes.
OK – I don't know how many people use the iPhone to view this site, but from the mobile site I can't submit comments anyway, and from the full site on the iPhone I can't scroll the new comments scrolly section!!! So now I'm left only being able to see the first few comments and cant reply to my older post!!!

I just tried it out on my Droid. Before it wasn't a big deal posting comments or reading them but now with this damn scroll bar thingy it's not even worth it.
i dont have an iphone but i have messed around with them. i could already see this coming just in the past 10 minutes of thinking how i dont like it. ive used my cousins itouch to look at this site and it would not work well on there in my opinion.
i do not have an iphone, but my smart phone has the exact same problem as yours now. i can only see the first few comments. i love the comments section and would like to able to see all the comments from my phone. i don't likr this change either. please remove this scroll bar feature. it actually makes it harder, and i think you can already see the vast majority do not like it. is there really a need to try it out something we don't like?
i love the comments section here at psxe. this is by far the best playstation site on the web becuase of its great community combined with the well written articles. psxe is an absolute haven for playstation fans. please don't screw up the comments section. it's been a rough week.

Thanks for looking into it and I'm glad I'm not alone. Right now I have to have 2 windows open: 1 on the mobile site to view comments and 1 on the full site to comment…..but again, I can't actually REPLY.
I agree with Excelsiors plea though….I love this site and believe that the community and the comments are a very positive aspect of this site that keeps me coming back. If viewing from a mobile device takes 1/2 the fun out then it's gonna make life difficult…..

Fear 3, i hope they put more effort in the sp this time, last one was short, and seemed so scaled down for the Playstation 3.
I vote to totally ditch this scroll bar.
It's no fun no having to scroll down, then having to scroll the far outer bar down some, & then having to return to the new scroll bar again to get somewhat lower in the comments.
And if the thread happens to have a massive amount of comments, then we're going to have to keep on rinse & repeating every 10-15 comments or so.
Also now the site has even chopped out a bunch of comments in some of those longer commented threads too.

Just checking to see if I can still comment from my phone, since others were having problems with the mobile site. Wanted to see if I did too.
While scrolling down a LONG list of comments is tedious on a phone, I prefer it to the new scroll bar.
…couldn't ffigure out how to scroll them on my phone with the new bar. So, I turned it off.
Never played a fear game though. May have to give this a look-see.

Anyways, back on topic, I'll be renting this one. FEAR 1 was a really good PC game, but a bad PS3 port. The 2nd one was a lot better of a port, but it wasn't as good as the first one. I'm hoping they can make a better game than last time this time.
