It showed up at this year's AOU arcade show in February, it's going to be featured in an upcoming edition of the Japanese magazine Arcadia, and we've learned we should see a playable demo before the weather gets hot . But the news doesn't end there, as even more Tekken 6 details have surfaced.
One big issue concerning all fighting games is the number of characters involved, and it appears this latest installment is going to feature more than a few new fighters. They said they don't want to "drop the character count" from Dark Resurrection , and while they didn't give us an exact number, we can expect a goodly handful of new characters.
The aforementioned Arcadia article went a little deeper concerning the gameplay, as they talked about one feature that has been sorely missing from the Tekken series- interactive backgrounds. Generally found in the Dead or Alive franchise, it's an aspect many fans enjoy, but these aren't the same kind of "interactive" environments you're familiar with. In addition to being impacted by the fighters, the background will also change with time. …could we be talking about a Fable -esque theory, here?
Without any doubt, Tekken 6 is hitting radar scanners all across the Internet. And with new info popping up seemingly every week, and the playable demo hopefully right around the corner, this game is just gonna get hotter and hotter.
