Well, that idea didn't last long.
Not long after debuting ratings of individual game developers (based on the aggregated scores of their games), Metacritic has decided to drop the new feature . Basically, they say the information is essentially incomplete; Metacritic co-founder Marc Doyle said the system just wasn't fair to the designers.
"If they've worked on 30 games and we can only show four and then we take on this score, which is really just an average of those games in our database for them, then that's not fair."
Doyle added that this industry needs to do a better job of crediting the developers, and we have to agree on that point. And while the feature in question is indeed gone, Metacritic will continue to create a production credit database. Finished Doyle:
"We discussed it as a team and it made sense to just drop that overall number whilst still trying to build this database which will be difficult, but we're going to give it a shot," he said. "It's needless to put that number on it though."
Well sure, some really top-notch developers have produced a stinker or two in the past, and unless we have all the info for that particular ar-teest, the results won't be accurate, right?
What on earth are they building a database for then? Oh well, I have no interest in the rating a developer gets cause I already know who is good and who isn't.
What they need to do is remove sites that give stupid scores to games just to be controversial.

Didn't know they were doing this, but it seems a dumb idea in the first place. Even the worst have a good one every now and then.
Maybe they should focus on not being xbots and then worry about expanding.

they should not have it on individuals, it should have it on the whole studio.
that way people can look back at a studios history, and get a good idea on what there games are like.
would be a perfect way to let developers like most of the ones who work for bethesda to learn how to debug there god dam games before they release them!
