Re-releases are getting a little boring, don't you think? How's about "evolving" a classic title?
MonkeyPaw Games has announced BurgerTime HD , a revamped retro game for the PSN, XBLA, PC and WiiWare. This is an updated version of Data East's burger-stacking platformer, and it's being developed by Frozen Codebase. Available "early this summer," the retooled game will feature four-player online multiplayer (along with local split-screen fun), leaderboards, DLC and chat. We'll get "enlarged 3D landscapes that offer numerous paths of burger creation;" as for the hilarious gameplay description, check this out:
"A unique cylindrical playing field reinvigorates the familiar classic gameplay of creating enormous hamburgers while fending off wieners, condiments and spices."
I despise fast food and suddenly I crave something nasty from McDonalds. …eh, I'll stick with trying this one when it arrives. Digital downloads can act as perfect contrasts to big-budget productions; I really think they're invaluable in keeping our gaming tastes fresh and diverse.
Related Game(s): BurgerTime HD
i'm all for keeping gaming tastes fresh and diverse. however, my tastes are reserved to full budget releases instead of wasting money on these overpriced minigames.

Burn Zombie, Burn! was the best 6 quid I've ever spent.
really? i'll look into it then. how much is 6 quid in dollars?
So we beg, and BEG!! for a FFVII HD remake…..and we get BurgerTime…
I mean, who was sitting around their studio one day and said….
Boss: "Guys, we need the next big digital download…any ideas!?!"
Nerd #2: "I think we should make an awesome RPG"
Boss: "You're an idiot, that will never work!"
Nerd #3: "What about a BurgerTime remake"
Boss: "GENIUS!!! Let's do it!"
square said it would take 20 years to remake ff7. that's probably an exaggeration on their part..
burgertime hd on the wii? really?
I mean…really…of all the remakes in HD we could have..they bring us Burgertime..I swear people are just remaking anything these days..
Looks like Joe Danger. I'm hoping its as fun as Joe Danger as well.
Not sure this one should have been done the first time around, a remake seems ludicrous.
Oh sweet fake baby Jesus, thank you!!!!!
This was my #1 favorite game back in the day of the Intellivision, Colecovision and numbered Atari's.
I even recently bought an Intellivision just to re-play Burgertime(along with Pitfall, Stampede, Utopia, Frogger & Snafu).
But I really didn't realize how out-dated BurgerTime(& the others) would look on my new HDTV.
So I'm hoping they don't do too much changing to the core gameplay. But from the pic, it worries me a bit that it's not going to feel anything like the 1st BurgerTime.
(Fingers are crossed)
It's not going to be. It sucks that when they remake games they turn everything into 3D. It changes everything about what we remember to be classics. They do it all the time,it happened to metroid, mario, kid icarus, frogger, pitfall, burger time, tron these are just to name a few.I love that they remake games but don't change what we have grown to love and enjoy about them. You want to remake a classic leave the damn thing like it was and just improve on the graphics and music don't change everything we have come to love, if you do then just call it something else.
I want to play the kid icarus I remember or any other old game just the way I remember but with 21st century graphics don't change the whole damn concept on it. Do you guys agree??
pass!
only PSN game im interested in is the new raymen game!
speak of the devil what happened to it?
ubisoft announced it last E3, and said it would be out by the end of the year!
my lord, they cant do anything right lately can they?
from destroying splinter cell, to destroying assassins creed, to destroying there PC market because of there BS DRM!
my lord, the only thing ubisoft are interested now is crappy fitness games!
unbelievable what this gen has done to 3rd party publishers!
ubisoft, crapcom, $E, sega, antivision, ps1 and ps2 days these were among the best 3rd party developers out there!
each use to release a multitude of fantastic games!
sure, there was some crap between the gold, but most of it was great!
nowadays though, there not releasing a single good game, let alone a single great one!
ubisoft had created my favorite IP of all time!
assassins creed.
then destroyed it with brotherhood!
crapcom, DMC, nuf said!
$E, FF, nuf said!
sega, yakuza, nuf said!
antivision.
well, they had a few good games like the bond games, guitar hero, but now there both been milked to kingdom come and suck!
sigh, amazing how much 5 years can change!
only 3rd party publisher out there worth there weight is WB, THQ, 2K and EA, which ironically enough were pretty mediocre in the ps1,2 days!
Awesome! BurgerTime on the Intellivision is one of my all time faves. Can't wait to try out this update!

I loved me some Burgertime back in the day. Still play it every now and then on my PC. A definite purchase for me when I get the chance. Wonder if Super Burgertime will get updated and/or included as well.
