Oh yeah, you've said it after completing a mission in a video game: "man, I could make one even better than that." Yeah? Time to put up or shut up, Mr. would-be designer.
If you want to become a true-blue Mission Designer for developer Sucker Punch, and you would just love to see your creation come to life in the upcoming inFamous sequel, pay attention: as revealed at the PlayStation Blog , it is time to talk about the inFamous 2 Limited Release User Generated Content (UGC) Beta. If you think you've got what it takes, feel free to sign up at the game's official website . Yes, you do have to be a U.S. resident.
This sign-up period lasts through this week and that's it, so act quickly! The team will select a group of winners to participate in the beta test, which is scheduled to begin on April 12. You will receive your invitation early next month if you're selected, so get those mission ideas ready. Just remember to read the rules and requirements at the website linked above; i.e., bear in mind that even if you've already registered, you still need to input your e-mail on the registration page.
Be creative. Be innovative. Take Cole on a bad-ass mini-adventure. If your idea is good enough, you'll be on cloud nine, huh?

Sounds like an interesting thing to do and should add a lot of variety…..and i loved infamous so cant wait 😀
Wow, very cool.
Although I would probably suck at trying it, I can't wait to see what crazy ideas others have.
Just registered, now I wish I could be part of the beta, but I have the luck of a one legged rabbit, so I'll probably have to wait until this summer to do my mission creating.
Registered and waiting. Got a few ideas spinning around in my head.
Going to create a level where you have to creatively kill Zeke over and over.
LOL! Oh, please send me an invite to play that level.
I'm all signed up. My mission would probably suck because I'd get too excited and not take my time with it. But hey I still want to be involved in every single thing this game has to offer. My GOTY for sure.
Dear World,
I believe it was you who single handedly got Cole's appearance changed to the non-douchebag version. If you could see your way to making inFamous 2 support the Move, that would be kewl.
Nah, leave the fun for release day. Why would you want to spoil yourself in such a fashion? We all know that Sucker Punch are awesome, so I'm willing to see what they can do… then multiply it by a hundred to create some epic madness! Of course, I'll only be able to play it myself, but that won't make it any less fun. Most ofmy fun in LBP came from trying to get a single aspect of my level working (took me almost three weeks to work out the best design, but I got it working damnit!).
Peace.
P.S. Off-topic, but has anyone else read the David Jaffe interview on IGN? It's an interesting read. As always, the interviewer seems to be a bit inflammatory, but Jaffe works with it.

Hopefully the beta is only to create levels and does not reveal any plot details. Then again if I get to see some of the environments and characters I may be able to piece together some story elements.
Man… now I have to think twice about participating in the beta because I decided to go in fresh on this game. Thanks a lot Lawless. Lol.
I was waiting for an article about I2, so ima go slightly off topic.
What ever happened to the ice powers thing, it seems to have totally disappeared.
No more "2" made out of ice when you see the title appear at the end of a trailer.
I was just wondering, hope they haven't left it out completely, even though it might have been too much work, I was really looking forward to see how Sucker Punch would've tackled that.
It seems that was basically just a tease for an announcement that's still yet to come. By the looks of it, the two new allies have fire and ice abilities, and you'll eventually get to choose one or the other, and somehow get their powers. It'll be interesting to see how (if) it pans out.
Peace.
I hope that comes through, would make the game even more expansive 😀
sigh.
sony giving us non US members the finger YET AGAIN!
that brings the total to what, 800 billion by now?
why is the ps3 even released outside the US!?
typical sony!
first in line to grab your cash, but when it comes to giving out the content their nowhere to be found!
Dude… it's just a beta. We still get the game, so who really cares? If we have to wait a few extra months, and get the finalised product, rather than getting a half complete test run of it immedia- OHHH! Now I get what Ben means with the instant gratification comments!

the us dont have offical beta testers so when ever they do a beta its like this
the eu have offical beta testers who test out games for them im one of them that y eu doesnt really get as many things like this apart from open betas
its not only betas.
pricing, limited editions, release dates, competitions, launch parties, game rooms.
sony does so many things for its fans, but all US exclusive.
its like sony dont exist outside the US!
not true man sony does things for the eu they gave em a killzone 3 public beta very recently
and ive been in loads of betas too
I'm so gonna get the Hero Edition for the bagpack.
I need a new one now that my current pack is showing it's age.
Is the Replica sling pack really full size? The pictures of the Hero Edition make it look small. The statue is 8.5 inches tall and the bag seems just a little bigger than that. I hope it is.
Not going to sign up for it, but I am sure looking forward to the game, and create a mission feature.
So design your mission is kinda like Little Big planet, with awesome inFamous gameplay…NICE:)
