It was initially expected to release early this year, but they needed a bit more time to put the "revolution" in Deus Ex: Human Revolution .
And while the game may not be "revolutionary," per se, it should be quite appealing on a variety of different levels. Why publishers continue to insist on using Twitter to provide the gaming public with release dates, we don't know, but the results are in- Eidos says the latest iteration in the award-winning Deus Ex franchise will arrive in North America on August 23 . It'll drop three days later in the UK. You can pick up the standard edition or spring for the super cool Augmented Edition , which is only $10 more. The developers have also promised fans they would remain true to the well-respected roots of the franchise, while still offering some new twists and enhancements. For more on the game, make sure to check out our detailed preview ; it's still one of our most anticipated titles of the year.
And by the way, I seem to remember Invisible War being quite long, relatively speaking…so we had better get a lengthy campaign, damnit. It's all about the slick sci-fi atmosphere and story, after all.

Yay, revolution in the summer! Lol
I actually prefer this date cuz as usual, summer's pretty empty.
First one was great. One of my all time favorites. Unfortunately second one was disappointing. I'm hoping Human Revolution will be more like the first Deus Ex.
Should be a lot of fun! Cannot wait for this. Ultimate fan service would be to release the first Deus Ex upgraded with the new engine. Nothing changed, only upgraded graphics, sounds and maybe voice acting, maybe. It would probably be the highest selling game of all time.
I'm currently playing through the first game again and will be moving on to the second one afterwards in preparation for the new one. Preordered the augmented edition so I'm set to go this summer.
Geobaldi,
If you can find it, get Project:Snowblind too, as it's been called the "spiritual successor" to D.E.
It actually was supposed to be the 3rd D.E. game in the series, but after making it a multi-player game, they then decided to make it as it's own a stand-alone game.
It has all the very same elements in it as DE:TC & DE:IW did, FPS, RPG, along those biometrics & augmentation features.
Oh it's very easy to find. Steam has it. I used to have it on disc but have since lost it it appears 🙁 I never got the chance to finish it but what little I did try was enjoyable. Nowhere near as much as the first one, but better than part two. Just wish it had more stealth than what I remember it having.
Got faith in this one, I think?
Mentioned this last night. And just so you know, the date was originally leaked by an Aussie retailer. Now how'd that happen? Moving on from my patriotic semi-ramble.
I've been reading a lot of previews for this, and must say that I am greatly looking forward to it. The way that every choice you make has an effect reminds me of Heavy Rain. The way you can play anyway you want appeals to me, as I enjoyed that aspect of Bioshock, but here it's ramped up further. And apparently the AI is really intelligent as well. Should be a great game, and if it's not… I'm going to blame S-E.
Peace.
I have had my eye on this since first announced and i cried a little when it got pushed back. My desktop wallpaper is actually a screenshot from this game. the sheer amount of character control is what appeals to me most. like ME2 on crack or as someone else mentioned, Heavy Rain. biggest thing i am pulling for here is like Ben said, a LONG story.. and by long i mean 80 hours at the least. I will prolly be dissapointed, but its always okay to hope. D1P for me without a doubt. in fact i will be pre ordering soon.
I don't think it'll be that long. It isn't an open-world game. But then, considering the reported depth of the mechanics, the fact that there are five cities in the game and that it's an RPG, I'd say it'll likely be 20-25 hours. I'd like a bit more, but I'll be satisfied with that.
Peace.
if you want character control, go grab alpha protocol.
be warned though, the boss battles are REALLY hard!
no game gives you customization like this does!
everything, and i mean EVERYTHING you do changes the game in one way or another!
look at that and you will see how heavy rain, ME2, and this should of been.
i hope this is, but i seriously doubt it.
one thing future RPGs certainly should have though!
one of my most anticipated games of the year!
i hope it takes the game changing as far as alpha protocol did.
EVERYTHING you did, said effected the game in one shape or another!
you could even reply back to emails however you wanted!
thats one thing im really disappointed about ME2 with, and hope ME3 fixes.
your constantly given choices but they rarely change anything!
especially in conversations, your given 3 lines on the right and all 3 give the same reaction even though their totally different!
you can say something positive, neutral or negative and the response will be the same!
WTF?
normally if i say good job to someone, i expect a different response to you blazing idiot a freaking monkey could of done that better!
whats the point of having choices, but not having any effect to them?
especially in the comic book at the start of the game, you can choose who becomes rep for the council, you get to choose who to save, you get to choose quite a few things but neither of those changes anything!
whats the point of having choices if there not going to change anything?
exactly like heavy rain this game, gives you so many choices but they barely do a thing!
I played through the first two Deus Ex games. The first one was definitely the bigger, better game. Invisible War was compressed and "dumbed down/simplified" for the Xbox's meager RAM (relative to PC's). Warren Spector even lamented how much of a difference it would've made if the Xbox had 128 MB of RAM.
Anyway, this game is higher up there on my hit list. I'll grab it when it comes down in price.
I am really excited for this one and I prefer this august release to it's previous release date, there's usually not much coming out around August so this should be a great time for it to sell.
Awesome! 3 days before my birthday. I'm totally getting this.
One of my most highly-anticipated games this year..
Deus Ex = FTW
