Why are we searching for evidence for a game that should've been out a good seven or eight years ago?
Ah well, such is the nature of the ongoing saga that is Diablo . We know Diablo III is in the works but we certainly don't have a release date, and we're still not certain it will arrive for consoles.
However, as to the latter topic, there has been various pieces of evidence over the past year to indicate that PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will get the long-anticipated title. The latest info comes from a few new job listings : recently, Blizzard – via Gamasutra – posted a want ad for a Senior Producer to work on "Console Diablo III," and now, it has happened again. This time, they're looking for a Lead Designer to work on "(Console) Diablo III." Blizzard asks that applicants have "at least one AAA console title" to their credit and to disturb us a bit, they ask for "experience with shipping or porting multi-platform games." …now why'd they have to say that?
We're just a little leery of ports, that's all. To date, Blizzard has not confirmed Diablo III for any platform besides the PC but maybe there's ample evidence to convince us of its inevitable arrival on the PS3 and 360.
This game would have to kick some serious… stuff for me to get interested. Diablo 1 and 2 were neat for their time but anything like that would be outdated now.
Yeah I think its going to deliver, they seem to be changing the outdated things for the better. Even though I'm not a fan of world of warcraft blizzard knows how to make quality games. This would be great for the console crowd. Although I will be getting it for the pc there is not reason for this not to come to console especially when you consider the fact that diablo 3 doesnt have exactly next gen hyper graphics that only a pc can handle.

Damn… if they are only advertising now for positions, they have a long way to go. PC people will be able to give Diablo a go at least well before the console owning masses….
Q!
"the devil is in the detail"
Why not? it would sell a LOT.
I played 1 and 2 on PC, but if 3 is coming to PS3 then I am sure I'd pick it up. But I guess games like this is better to play on PC because all the shortcut keys you have to use.
well activision does own blizzard so I can only assume it will be coming to consoles
Except that Blizzard and Activision are run independently of each other. Blizzard is free to do what they want, when they want, without Activision's approval.
If were talking about pc rpg I would much rather the witcher be released on consoles.
Ummm, how about both?
Maybe they should first finish the PC version they've been working on for SEVEN FRIGGIN YEARS.
Sometimes, "it's done when it's done" just doesnt cut it.
Hipster it hasn't been thaaaaat long.
signed, Duke Nukem
Do point and click adventures work on consoles? I think it'd be better for them to change the interface somewhat if they want to bring it to consoles. I'm not saying to make it into a third-person over the shoulder view, but modify the control scheme and UI. Ah, who am I kidding, I'd probably pick it up anyway. There's not really enough GOOD sword and sorcery games.
Peace.

D1P!!!
For the PC version? Yes it is.
No, for the PS3. I use to be a PC only gamer not anymore. Just fell out of love and don't like building a PC every year with the newest ATI Radeon to keep up with the graphics. To expensive when I can get a very nice fix with my PS3. Diablo III on the PS3 can be very good if it's done right. Blizzard will do it right.
Unless there's keyboard and mouse support being made available for it, I don't see how the console version will work properly. D2 used around 20 or so hotkeys if I remember.
It depends how they make the control scheme for consoles. You don't need a Mouse or a keyboard if they do it right. I used my controller playing games on the PC never had a problem.
I have no problems using a controller on my PC either, it's just that some games require more buttons than current controllers have. And Diablo is one of those. It'll still be interesting to see how it'll work if and when they do it
I don't see it possibly needing as many buttons as DMC even. Having played D2 extensively I have to question whether or not you have any idea what you are talking about. I'm trying to figure out how they would create enough actions to possibly fill all of a gamepad's buttons.
Most of the Hotkeys were very optional. The <10 or so that were necessary (like potions and F-keys) could be reduced to 3 buttons without complaint.
not going to happen!
Have never played Diablo series. Can you play in multiplayer on splitscreen like Baldur's Gate?
No, it would be pretty hard to do split-screen on the PC.
My hubby loves Diablo he's been really anticipating this title. He has the PS1 Diablo but loves playing them on the PC.
If it happens they are probably do what they did for the first bring it on to PC first then a few years later it'll show up on the consoles.
Yhea, no doubt it will come out on PC first, they have a long way to go in getting the console versions out. They have all the PC assets they can use, but to refine it for consoles will take some time…
Biggest issue in my view… memory, or the lack of it…
Q!
"play.experience.enjoy"
My most anticipated game of all-time! Right next to Uncharted 3. Consoles could really use a top-notch RPG like Diablo, but for me I see no reason not to play it on PC regardless. It WILL guaranteed be the best version, and RPG's have ALWAYS been best played on a PC.
Whatever you say…
