It has been a while since we saw that teaser for Beyond Good & Evil 2 . But don't worry; Ubisoft says, "keep the faith."
And in order to keep that faith, you should show your support by picking up the high-definition remake of the original title. Ubisoft producer Wang Xu told Eurogamer that fans shouldn't give up hope on the long-awaited sequel, but when asked if the HD remake would be used to gauge interest in the follow-up, Xu replied:
"Yes it is true; please buy Beyond Good & Evil HD if you want more BG&E games."
Starting next week, that brilliant high-definition version of one of the PS2's most entertaining titles will be available on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live service. So if you were a fan of the game and have been waiting for Ubisoft to fully unveil the sequel, make sure you download the high-def Jade goodness.
Beyond Good & Evil was released in late 2003 and garnered plenty of critical acclaim for its great blend of action, adventure, stealth, and puzzle elements. If you missed out, you should definitely give the remake a shot. It'll benefit us all in the long run…
Cool, if it will be the standard 14.99 I'd pick it up because it's a good game, sequel or not.
That game play description sounds right up my alley, but is it only available via download and if so, how much?
What kinda cheap HD remake are they trying to pull, download only, come on.
yep, it's cheap, and it's not showing much confidence in your product, either.
One of the finest games of the last ten years.
Gotta be in my top 20 of all time.
It must be one hell of a unique game to get into your top 20.
Not that that's a bad thing. Your comment's actually inspired me to check out some Youtube vids of it to see if it'll interest me.
It is severely underrated.
I had an amazingly unique time with that game. It had amazing atmosphere, a great theme and score overall, so much to do and a lot of the ideas were ahead of it's time. I can only hope they bring it back. That concept on this gen hardware would astound….times have changed though, the original didn't revolve around constant action and sported things like an animal photographer mini game in which you had to snap all species of animal in the game, which was peaceful and down tempo and i spent hours doing that to get all the rewards. I just hope all that would stay intact for the follow up in the twitch age.

I have it on xbox1 but never got far because the next gen games roped me in. I did like what i played though and playing it in HD would be preferable. I'll probably grab this depending on the price. I want a part 2.
Never played but I guess I'll check it out. I still want my HD Bushido Blade, Tenchu 1&2, Shinobi, 1st 3 onimusha games as well as the Road Rash & Cool Boarders remakes (or a Sequels to anyone or all either one is fine).

Hmmm, never played the original. All I keep reading is how good the original was. This seems like it's right up my alley. Very interested in the price. I just preordered Mortal Kombat today from Amazon. So, I will have to wait a little bit before I can pick this up.
that would be a sweet price. Though xbox hides their prices in points.
You know, I'd gladly pay the full $60 for this HD version of BG&E. To me, the game is just that damn good and it'd be worth it if it guaranteed a sequel. BG&E is one of the most underrated gems of the last generation… third only to ICO and Okami.
lol wow, forcing people to buy a game that we own already or we get no sequel.
Kick to the balls confirmed.

I got BG&E for 1.9 on the PS2. It looks great on my PS3, I'm not convinced by there proposition to make a sequel if we all buy it. They been working on and off it for years.
This game easily makes my top 5 of the last gen. Seriously underrated. Lost my copy somehow and was trying to add it to my collection again. But it proved really hard to find. So really looking forward to the HD remake. But I would've preferred a disc version to a digital copy.
if there trying to gauge interest for a sequel, then why would you limit your customers?
oh yes, thats right this is ubisoft so that makes perfect sense!
Can't wait for this! Going to purchase it on both PSN and Xbox Live (seriously, 10 dollars? For an HD remake? That's a friggin' steal).
Really, really hope they release 'Beyond Good & Evil 2'. Hell, if they're worried about the development costs then scale back the budget a little and release it on the Playstation Network/Xbox Live instead like they're doing with 'I Am Alive'.
Downloables are still just as good as retail versions. Look at Double-Fine's latest games.
i found a copy of this for ps2 last year for $6. i will still buy the hd version.
