The KZ3 Multiplayer Open Beta is a mere 24 hours away and Guerrilla says the "beta is looking better than ever." Find full details over at the PlayStation Blog ; most importantly, you should note the small delay. The beta was originally supposed to start on February 2 but it will now begin on February 3 – today – at 10:00 a.m. PST. But here's the really cool part- they're giving away no less than 60 Killzone 3 Limited Helghast Editions , which will not be sold in stores. It boasts everything that comes in the Helghast Edition that you can find at retailers, but with the special bonus of a Helghast Helmet replica with illuminated LED eyes. How many did they make of these bad boys? Oh, 1000. Yeah, that's not many. If you want a shot at one, log on and get involved in the open beta this weekend.
Starting Friday, they will "randomly select 20 participants each day who are playing in the Open Beta," and then notify those lucky winners via e-mail. If you're a winner, you'll see that notice between February 10 and February 18. …as if you needed any further incentive to play one of the most impressive betas to date. The closed beta last year was extremely solid and if it's indeed "better than ever," you're in for a very big treat.

I wasn't really planning to check that out cuz I only care bout the single player and mayhaps the split screen, but if there's a chance I won't even have to pay for the game AND get neat stuff I might as well dip in and try it out. Lady Luck is a fickle b*tch.

60?? That's a hefty amount. Good for them. The beta testers deserve this kind of reward. I mean playing someone's beta over a real game? Those are your fans right there.
I can't wait to play this. It should be great to be part of the KZ3 Beta programme while it lasts. It is going to be an awesome experience I am sure of that!

all i care about is killzone is coming in a few weeks. i could care less about this thing, never won anything like this so i'll just keep playing killzone 3. prize is great but i learned not to even bother, given how many people are looking to play the open beta. right when killzone 3 releases, cod and anything else is gone. i got my 3 unlock points from that home killzone game so i'm good to go….after i beat the campaign on hardest first.
Well, I D/L'ed Home just so I could check out the Helghast invasion at the plaza.
And I had fun playing against them for 3 days, but I wasn't able to get more than 15,600 points in the 2nd wave, so I never got to complete it.
But, it looks like Killzone-3 is going to cause 2 new first's for this ole lone wolf…..
My 1st multi=player & my 1st beta.
Guess I'm going to have to delete Home once again to get my last 11GB's back just so I can try out this beta.

Yeah when I started playing the home game everyone was just chatting instead of helping me out. It took me a week to do all the challenges except for the last challenge in wave 2 & 3.

Yeah same here
Out of about 30 times I stopped in to play it, I only had 2 people assist me, with 1 kill each.
But in all fairness, about 20 of those times I jumped in were around 3 to 4AM when it was almost dead enough to hear crickets chirping.
Shouldn't you be sleeping? Yeah 1 guy did help me but it was ammo for a gun I didn't have >:(. I remember I took down that flying ship with only bullets in wave 3. I even got the high score and only 5000 away from #10 in all time high score.

O, plus i could not resist the bargain today and bought portal on PC for 8 bucks!
Looking forward to this, especially trying out the move controls. If they are pretty good, I'll go ahead and buy one of the move gun mods so I can really enjoy it.
i wasn't going to get the beta, but now… i will definately consider it. i have really slow internet though, so by the time i download it, the beta may have finished.

does the beta actually support move and 3D?
i know the SP demo does, but they have not mentioned anything for the beta.
speaking of KZ3 sony just announced there doing a preview here!
dunno why, but they only do this for KZ.
out of all the ps3 exclusives released since the ps3 launched, KZ2 and this are the only games they have actually brought here for preview.
O, and GT5 but that was because toyota threw a whole lot of money at them to advertise there new super car at the motor show, without that and it would of not been there.
soooooooooooo hope i get in this, i never got to go to the KZ2 one.
does not say if the devs will be there though, the KZ2 one they had 2 of the devs there.
Let's see how this one turns out, the last one left me a little bit dissapointed, I was expecting more because of the hype.
