Eidos To Make A Home In Montreal

Montreal is shaping up to be a town of destiny for several big game companies, as evidenced by Ubisoft's expansion of their Montreal studio and now, Eidos Interactive's move to the big Canadian city. Eidos and economic development agency Investissement Quebec have officially set plans in place for creating a new studio for the big publisher, and that only means more jobs for game lovers.

The city already boasts nearly 5,000 game development jobs, plus the added benefit of tax credits for software production, so it's no surprise that Montreal is currently a big draw for all kinds of industry-related talent. This new Eidos studio has initially scheduled four projects for the latest generation of consoles, and they expect to hire 110 people by the end of the year, and 350 within three years.

We don't yet know what these projects are, when the new studio might begin work on them, or what platforms they're for, but that's okay. It's enough to know that Eidos is doing well, and it's certainly more good news for Montreal. Any prospective game designers out there seeking a position north of the border…?
