It's one of the first questions a gamer asks these days: "how long is it?
Those who ask typically aren't into multiplayer (at least, not for the particular title in question), and want to make sure the experience is worth the $60 investment. Well, although you'll have to wait a while for Deus Ex: Human Revolution , length won't be a negative when it arrives. In fact, it's going to be a big highlight: in speaking to PC Gamer UK , the highly anticipated Deus Ex title will take around 25 hours to complete. Added producer David Anfossi:
"So far with them playing about six hours every day, most of them don't complete the game.
The ones that are more casual gamers, who are used to more 'corridor, cut-scene, corridor, cut-scene' type of gameplay – they play it that way for a while. Then suddenly, there's this new world that opens to them, and they start getting a bit more creative."
Actually, to those who are familiar with the franchise, this doesn't come as a big surprise. As these are action/RPG hybrids with a firm focus on character building and storyline, such adventures normally last much longer than your standard action or shooter title. I believe it took me a good 30 hours to beat one of them…might have been Invisible War .
But anyway, don't you worry about length when it comes to Human Revolution . Let's just hope the gameplay itself is worthy of your money.

I've been reading up about this game lately & it seems like my kind of game. The 25 hour gameplay experience is a big plus for me & may actually be one of the few games i buy day one at full price instead of months later when it reaches discount baskets.
Looking forward to reading more news on it, i'll be all over this like a blow fly to a holy turd until it's released.
Length is a definitely an issue, and not just with the folks who order Extenz from TV late at night. There's nothing worse than finishing a game and going: that's it? It's over?
Hate that feeling. 🙁
Me too.
Even with 25 hour games I hate reaching the end of a good one!
Currently seeing my AC:B sync total at 53% and I'm depressed it's half over. I love that game…
I was upset when U2 ended, "that's it, its over?" feeling. It was an epic game don't get me wrong The story was f n' awesome and it was long enough but it was so good that I just didn't want tit to end.
I have not looked into this game much. I never played any of them before. But what I have herd, it looks ok.

Any good game coming to an end leaves a hole in ya, like any good book. Funny how movies can't do that.

you're right about that last point world..
Immersion level
Books and Engaging Video Games 🙂
Movies 🙁
I particularly remember not wanting to complete P3 or P4 for said reasons. One of my friends put P3 down at the final week because he didn't want it to end.
Nice. Length is certainly lacking these days. Maybe I take a second look at this game.
25 hours isn't THAT much really, it's certainly a nice lenght. The problem is the lack of RPGS in gaming today, developers generally prefer to make FPS due to them being more succesful.
But some games are fine clocking around 10 hours, many were shocked to here Silent Hill: Downfall would be about that, but that does not bother me at all.
As for the game i briefly played Invisible Wars on the XBOX and really enjoyed it, i'm curious to see what they'll make of it, it the reviews are pleasent, i may even get it.
yeah 10 hours is fine by me, I don't expect Dead Space 2 to be any more than that.
I'm warming up to this since it seems Eidos hasn't been gimped by being owned by SE. I'll be watching PSXE's review for sure. Notice I didn't say "score"? The content of the reviews here always tells me whether I'd like it or not.
25 hours for this type of game is solid, and it generally means it'll take me 30 or more with all my fiddling around. I only expect any more from open world RPGs and JRPGs.
But it was totally cool that Castlevania was long and kept getting better. Very atypical of an action title.
Indeed. By the end of Castlevania I was having a blast. Especially with all the sweet combos and moves unlocked.
Promising. With that length, and multiple playthroughs warranted by the vast number of options available to the player, it should certainly be worth coughing up the release price. Of course, that sort of hinges on it being a good game, and I'm sure that they'll go wrong somewhere due to the sheer number of options, but I still think it'll turn out well. Maybe not an elite title, but above the pack.
Shame it's been pushed back though.
Oh, and does anyone else remember the claim that GoW would last 22 hours? Or Black Ops being twice the length of MW2? Yeah, they lessen the impact of this statement slightly.
Peace.
I'll take a peak at it, When does this game launch?
This one should last me a while, provided it lives up to it's predecessors in terms of eclectic tactics.
And, my quickest speed runs of 'Deus Ex' and 'Invisible War' lasted me longer than most single-player campaigns this generation. Hopefully this means my initial playthru of 'Human Revolution' will indeed last me at least those 25 hours (I like to take my sweet time with any game that allows it).
This is great news!. I'm kinda tiered of short games that feel like they should be longer. 25 hours for a Deus Ex should be just fine. I can't wait for this game!.
Hallelujah! One of my big concerns for this game was that it would only be 8-12 hours, this makes me feel much better. Can't wait for the review, I have hope for this game.
Short length was my complaint with GRAW!
I played the whole SP campaign slowly, & it still only worked out to about slightly over 4 & 1/2 hours!
when I actually got to the end, I was like WTF???? & expecting at least another 4 to 5 hours more to finish it.
Anyways, DEHR is going to the top of my want list
