The cocky, blade-wielding hero stole the hearts of many a gamer back in 2001, and the franchise really hit a combat mechanic peak with the third installment a few years ago. We've been hearing about Devil May Cry 4 for the PS3 for quite some time, and now, it appears we at least have a tentative release window: some time "this autumn."
Mark Beaumont, Capcom's executive vice-president, was recently appointed head of consumer software in Europe, and he spoke with GamesIndustry.biz about several topics of interest. But most importantly for PS3 owners and DMC fans, he had this to say-
"…Devil May Cry is coming out later in the year, probably in the autumn, which will be our next real triple-A push."
Well, at least we know it'll be ready for this year. Most sources had predicted a 2007 release for the game, but this is the first official hint that our predictions – and wishes – will come true. If we're lucky, we might get a trailer or even a playable demo on the PlayStation Store this summer…but we've heard no word on this just yet. We can always hope, right? < /p:
