Well, we've got plenty of stuff coming out in the first quarter, and we might need a promising title come May.
For the second time, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Day 1 Studios have been forced to delay F.E.A.R. 3 . The last time it was pushed back, it landed a March 22 launch date; now, the new date is some time in May. Scheduled to arrive for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, the next iteration in the horrific first-person shooter franchise needs more time to cook. It's all about delivering "the best possible game" for the consumer and we can support that, provided the final product is worth the wait. F.E.A.R. 3 will feature an all new "divergent co-op mode" that lets players take on the role of one of two characters; either Point Man, the genetically engineered super soldier, or Paxton Fettel, who boasts Telekinesis. Day 1 has also utilized the talents of horror guru John Carpenter ("Halloween," "Escape From New York," "They Live"), and that should translate to a truly engrossing storyline that delivers the thrilling goods in spades.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series, we suggest you give F.E.A.R. 2 a try. It's worth a play-through.
Related Game(s): F.E.A.R. 3
These never got good enough scores for me to really consider, but I do like the idea of wielding Telekinesis again. Love Bioshock.
The first F.E.A.R. scored really well and met with primarily universal acclaim on the PC. It's the console versions that really ruined it. I tried to play the PS3 version but I just couldn't enjoy it nearly as much as the original. Part 2 was just ho-hum no matter what version you played. I'm hoping Alma comes back with a vengeance in part 3, and the co-op campaign hopefully will be done right.
FEAR 1 and 2 were very good games. FEAR 1 was fantastic PC game that show cased incredible graphics, AI and horror. I remember getting a new video card and marveling in the fire fights that would just explode on the screen. This is a very good franchise. I really enjoyed Part 2 as well. I felt 1 was scarier than 2. Now, ever since I beat Dead Space recently neither of these games are scary.
Your missing out World, they are well worth the play especially as they are cheap to pick up, if you have a PC rig that can do it justice I would opt for that, the PS3 version will give you plenty of chills and thrills though.
It's FEAR…who cares about FEAR. I played both 1 and 2 and I don't plan on playing 3. So many games coming out…this would surely get lost in the world of gaming if it came out this year. Either way…I don't think anyway is too excited.
I really liked the other two but they should probably go ahead and delay this until 2012. This thing is gonna get buried by so many good exclusives, not to mention a ton of other FPS's.
May could be a good time for this game though. Most of the rush starts in the end of Jan-March then it slows down a bit till fall then picks right back up. I'm not planning on buying it, but this may be the right move
I wonder why Monolith isn't doing this one. Hopefully, they're doing another No One Lives Forever or Condemned.
I would love to see another No One Lives Forever entry myself.
This delay is a blessing in disguise because there is no way in hell this title is going to garner interest amongst the crush of huge titles coming this year.
I'll give this a look but i am not expecting much. The first FEAR on PC was class but it didn't take long for the series to turn average. FEAR 2 had nothing on the first one imo with zero scares & jump out of your seat moments like it's predecessor.
Alma needs to appear ALOT more often like she did in the first FEAR game for me to plant a wad of $$$ over the counter.

Yea FEAR was good for its time. Didn't age well at all but what I disliked about 2 was the fact that debris and clouds of smoke didn't pile up like they did on the 1st one. I liked being blind during a firefight! That was awesome but considering Monolith isn't making this either it will be a rental.
AGAIN!?
sigh, i could smell a disaster coming but i did not want to believe it.
no previews, countless delays, yup it looks like this will be a bigger disappointment than the crap they call fear 2.
oh what do i have to do to have the brilliance that was fear back?
the original was so memorable, like that part where you walk into the maternity ward than you turn around and alma is standing there than the whole room fills with blood.
that haunted me for weeks!
still remember that scene like i played it 5 minutes ago, cant say the same about anything from fear 2.
except from the part where your struggling with that prick with a shotgun and accidentally blow his head off, i laughed so hard i fell off the chair and pissed my pants!
funniest moment in video game history!!!!!!!!!
The flashback where you see Alma walking upside down on the ceiling in a hallway of blood made me sob & whimper like a schoolgirl. The pause button got a raping that night because every moment you felt as though Alma was somewhere about, i was hesitant to almost move.
FEAR was one hell of an experience for me.
exactly, fear was the last game i played that i can honestly say scared me.
i wish we could get some new games like that!
dead space was creepy, but nothing in comparison to fear.
i wish fear 3 would be like the original, but i doubt it, it looks allot more like fear 2.
please prove me wrong though!
With all the games coming out I will most certainly rent this game. Crysis 2 will be a day 1 purchase though!
I enjoyed both 1 and 2., Played the first on the PC, second on the PS3. Looking forward to a third, the delay may be good as the release window is a little crowded and will only hurt sales.
I enjoyed both Fear 1 & 2(#1 was the beast), so I'm in for some more good ole butt-puckered Fear factor
