LittleBigPlanet 2 is only a few weeks away; do you have your copy pre-ordered yet?
If not, you can do the research and pick your favorite pre-order deal: check Conflicting Gamers for a list of retailer-specific incentives; you have your choice of Amazon.com, GameStop, Wal-Mart and Newegg. Amazon boasts a slightly cheaper price tag of $57.99, plus the pre-order bonus of Ratchet & Clank and "Even More Animals" costumes for Sackboy. If you pre-order the Collector's Edition ($79.99), you…well, you don't get anything special besides the goodies in that special edition. GameStop offers a PSN voucher for the "Clu" Sackboy costume (from "TRON: Legacy"), along with "Even More Animals" skins. If you decide to pre-order at Wal-Mart, you get "The Great Gonzo" Sackboy costume (The Muppets), and although you don't get a bonus for pre-ordering at Newegg, you do get a slightly cheaper price; $56.96.
So, if you haven't yet dropped your deposit on what is guaranteed to be one of 2011's best, now's the time. And don't worry, we won't forget about Media Molecule's newest innovative creation come December, when we have to start thinking about GotY Awards again. …despite Uncharted 3 's expected mastery.

I pre-ordered the special edition. You can't go wrong with a stuffed Sackboy and some bookends. You also get all the costumes that come with the pre-orders. Plus I think some other exclusive ones to the special edition. You get a lot of stuff well worth the $80
That is probably the best deal.
I've been thinking about buying the Collector's Edition but haven't gotten around to pre-ordering it.
I just preordered the game specifically for the Sackboy. The other sackboy plush on the market doesn't look as nice as this one.
Preordered the Collectors Edition months ago from Amazon. Can't wait. 🙂
Got mine at EB!!! Yay!! Plush Sackboy!!!
Sackboy is the perfect mascot, he needs more TV time. I'm thinking Kevin Butler walking a sackboy on a leash.
LOL! Email Sony. That would be comedy gold.
Wasn't there something not to long ago about Kevin Butler and LBP?
The was a spoof of the Kevin Butler Best Buy commercial made with the LBP Machinima tools. Excellent advertising. Sony definitely needs to make more of those. Spoof all exclusives I say.
And while they are at it.. I don't see why Sony cannot do the same thing within HOME. Now that would be even more of a marketing push. Create an ad. Recreate it in LBP then also recreate it in HOME. Triple threat. That would appeal to so many audiences. HOME could use the exposure.
someone make Little Kev Planet

Retailers duking it out for customer money is always good for gamers. Having a little choice of incentive is nice too. Sadly, I'm still grinding through the rpg of the year so I'll have to wait before buying anything else.
Preordered collectors edition on September 😉
I want the ratchet and clank costumes but im not gonna order from
Amazon. I would think eventually we will all hae access to those costumes anyways.
So does anyone know if the downloadable title sackboys prehistpric moves or what not, comes woth the purchase of LBP2? I almost bought it today but was haulted when a buddy told me it comes with the game. Any truth to this? Thanks.
Its true.
Lol, you make it seem like it's such a hassle. It's not like you have to pay more to preorder it from Amazon. The costumes are free if you preorder.
Oh and I don't believe Prehistoric Moves comes with LBP2. It's essentially standalone DLC for the Move.

@Jawknee
MM said that Prehistoric Moves comes with lbp2.They said it on the playstation blog.
I missed that. Thanks for correcting me. 🙂
prehistoric moves is some crazy levels. it was free for plus members. cant wait to see what else this game has going on
Jawknee-
Haha i didnt mean it like that. I just meant that i already pre ordered and wont be doing it from amazon. Its not a hassle to order at all in fact its very simple, i just choose not to order online ussually. Thats just me.
And ok good to know its bundled in the game. Glad i didnt buy it then!
Ah, Gotcha. 🙂
Anyone heard of the 711 deal where you get exclusive dlc for lbp2, killzone 3, and home if you buy a surplee? Is it true?

There's other LittleBigPlanet related rewards such as videos and ringtones, however it's most likely the exclusive in-game sticker pack that will appeal to everyone.

no but i live by a 711 so i will be asking
no 711 in Canada (i think)
ah, well I'll be coming to america next week so I grab.
Biker I went to the site and could not find the slurpee stickers pack, and map pack for killzone 3. Could you give me a link.
Is this suppose to contain both the 1st and second add on and in game contents? Can you play the game without the motion controller, or does it defeats the purpose?
i decided not to get this after finishing the LBP2 demo.
i was worried they would loose focus of the strict platforming style that made the first so good, and i was sadly right.
why have they changed the game from a multiple themed levels to single?
why is every game these days so god dam repetitive!?
the original had you starting off doing one thing, than moving to another, than another, than another within a single level.
this one has you doing one thing for 20 minutes than thats the end of the level.
how boring!
why are developers turning games into the most repetitive things possible?
all MM had to do with this is introduce new levels, thats it.
they have the luxury of being in such a deserted genre that they just had to milk the original and this would of been great.
but no, they had to change it so much, into a repetitive boring POS.
why, o why do games have to be so god dam repetitive!?
"was worried they would loose focus of the strict platforming style that made the first so good."
Uh huh…I thought you took it back because "it was to hard"?
The games focus still remains on platforming. I don't know why, but I don't think you even played the demo. Just a hunch.
"why, o why do games have to be so god dam repetitive!?"
I don't know. I could ask the same of you.
no i took the original back because i dont like repeating the whole f*cking level again just because i died 4 times!
i thought thats what checkpoints were for?
and no, i never played the demo.
thats why i know there were 3 levels available, and the last one i played had you controlling a cat, a dog and a rabbit if memory serves me.
thats why i did not like it, you just do the same sh*t for 20 minutes.
how is that fun?
everyone loves ice cream, but it dont take a brain surgeon to figure out you would get sick of it if you had to eat it for breaky lunch and dinner for a whole year!
eh, maybe people enjoy doing the same sh*t over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
but i certainly dont!
There are checkpoints… like 5 in each level… and each checkpoint gets you a number of retrys before they say, "ok dude, you suck. Go back to the start of the level and get better."
Super Mario Bros. was worse. But it's a classic.
I payed LBP1 a little bit and for me imo I wasn't into, not to say it was bad or anything, it has a lot of stuff to do, best community and endless replay value, but all that doesen't matter if I'm not into the type of game.
I tried the demo of lbp2 and still not that into the type of game, does that mean the games bad, no way, if anything that game could be GOTY, although I might still get it cause the non platforming levels are interesting but I probably can't you know money and such and saving it for KZ3
Cowpatty, you don't think anything is fun except for b*tching so I am not surprised you didn't like the demo.
I like that you call him cowpatty. If i hated you jawknee id like you just for that! But i dont hate you so it just makes me laugh.
Btw "cowpatty" (hah) You complain about everything. I recebtly said the only game you dont complain about is the AC series. But the other day i seen you complaing about brotherhood. Your a lost cause. If you couldnt play LBP i dont know wat to say. Its far to accessible for everyone. Its one thing if you just dont like it because its repetitive. Its another to deminish it because of the demo. Give it another chance when you can play the full version.

So it is true that they sell video games at 711? Ok, whatever.
I dunno, check your local 711?
711 definitely sells video games and there is definitely a promotion going on for LBP2 AND KILLZONE 3.
I have yet to see any 7-11 selling video game around here, but they've been doing a bunch of video game DLC promotions recently, by tying them in through sales of their slurpees.

i got a $25 gift card to gamestop from my dad for christmas. now i dont go to game stop much but my dad doesnt know where i shop. the fact that he thougth games was cool to me. i went to use the card at game stop today just for this. wanted to get the preorder for the collectors edition but the moron at the counter told me they werent takin preorders for that any more. i had found a sweet gt5 faceplate for my slim so i scored that instead. then i went home and ordered it on amazon like i should have in the first place. with launch delivery.
Greatest game ever for me. Already Pre-ordered.
…and i know you are all excited for U3, understandably, but, don't forget that TLG is most likely gonna take the GOTY as it's new and fresh and will be the critics darling like the others.
Also…do not forget Deus Ex 3 or even PROJECT DARK….From Software defeated Uncharted once, they can do it again.
If Ni No Kuni comes out this year too….my god.
Oh I cannot wait for Ni No Kuni. The game looks brilliant.
JESUS CHRIST SONYUK SUCK DONKEY BALLS WHEN IS COMES TO ADVERTSING.
They are now advertising LBP2 on ITV3 movies, at the beggining and end of each advert on each film (there goes sony's annual advertising budget.). And all it was was sackboy jumping up and down on a button with it igniting some holographic material saying "wax on, wax off" with stephen fry narrating. From the looks of it, it wasnt even gold game footage, choppy animations. But really, showed nothing of the game. they should have had "play, create, share" montage, that lasts for all 4 adverts (like 1/4 for each adverts.). Oh well, blame Sony for terrible day one sales; like last time..(in the UK atleast..)
You're starting to resemble ________ with your rants.
Hehe I am aren't I. I was in rush when typing that so I didnt have time to review it. I guess a avatar would go a long way in serperating the similarities…if only the ps3 could handle such a feat :/
But really, who came up with that idea? It just terrible. If anything its stephen fry's voice people will remember, which doesnt exactly help LBP2 sales. BTW wheres bens week in review? Isnt that on a sunday?
Late and semi-off topic, but are you guys seeing the review scores LBP2 is pulling down? A 94 on Metacritic, and the embargo only just broke. A great way for Sony to start the year methinks.
Peace.
Say what now? Reviews already!?
How can you review it when the game is based around user generated content & the servers dont go up until the 18th (well…they'll start working around the 20th probably). I like that their first impressions are that good but, really they've seen nothing yet (unless they got into the beta…).
I just read IGN review.
The guy basically says "I can't be arsed to get into the create tools, but yeah they're cool." Seeing the potential is one thing, but that doesn't mean you can give a review on it.
Mind you I played his level from LBP1 and it was god-awful, not to be rude but it was. I just find it wrong that someone passes judgement on a game's creation tools when they haven't given it half a chance. To be fair he said it himself it doesn't deserve to be on the servers. But that doesn't cut it IMO, & after the in-depth review's of Ben & Arnold who can take more than atleast a few weeks before publishing a review, make him look like he's in the wrong job. OKAY DONE.
Most reviews for LBP2 I've read so far give it a score above 9. I was interested on how IGN would rate it, given how they typically diss exclusive PS3 games. GT5, anyone?
Anyway, NowGamer UK gave LBP2 a 10/10 along with other distinctions. I'd say the game is going to be on my collection very soon!
Speaking of which, Ben… You wouldn't happen to be able to tell us whether or not you have the review code yet, would ya?
Preordered can't wait my son is looking foward to it especially the stuffed sackboy I think the extra content and bookends are cool too 🙂
