The Star Wars movies may be over, but the games will probably never end. LucasArts has officially announced the first Star Wars game for the new generation, and they plan to release it for the PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, and Nintendo DS this November. Entitled Star Wars: The Force Unleashed , this one focuses on the era between Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV- A New Hope. For the very first time in the franchise's history in the interactive world, the player will assume the role of Darth Vader's mysterious apprentice.
With the Empire growing in strength and Palpatine at the helm, Vader is gonna send you to do some dirty work: eliminate the remaining Jedi. You'll be able to take advantage of four unique Force powers in your difficult quest: Force push, grip, repulse, and lightning. The best part? There should be a great deal of added strategy involved, considering we'll be able to string those powers together and develop sweet combos!
While it will appear on the older platforms as well, the game should sport a bunch of realistic visual additions for the newer consoles. For example, wood will splinter when struck and plants will even sway in the breeze, lending the environment a much more authentic feel. Characters directly involved in the action might even change their decisions and behavior, depending on the current situation. So if you're a Star Wars fan, you should definitely keep an eye on Force Unleashed as more information comes to light.
