You've probably already seen it, but it's worthy of posting for the sake of discussion. …it's Uncharted 3 , for crying out loud.
After debuting in the form of a teaser trailer at the Spike TV Video Game Awards last weekend, full gameplay made its worldwide debut on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon." The Naughty Dog guys were on hand to play the game, and we got to see Drake and Sully caught in a raging fire. Personally, I'm just amazed that Uncharted got this kind of publicity and attention from the mainstream media, so here's the video:
But if you want the straight gameplay without Fallon's commentary – and that's understandable – just head over to GameSpot to see the video with all the voices and sound effects. It's just a sample of the unparalleled greatness that will be Uncharted 3 …oh wait…didn't Naughty Dog say something about being under a ton of pressure?
We should stop applying it, huh?

Go Naughty Dog!!
I want this game.

NVM it's back up
Yeah, this looks great. I can see many game play upgrades. Naughty Dog does a great job at improving upon every aspect of a game with their sequels.
Looks like sand effects aren't the only visual aspect Naughty Dog are planning on perfecting, because those fire effects are F-ing impressive!
Personally, Uncharted is the best new IP of this generation. There are lots of great games that were born this console generation, but Uncharted tops them with how almost everyone is keeping tabs on it. And for very good reasons too!
And man, while I thank Fallon for featuring the game on his show, I honestly found him so annoying on that video!
Lbp wants to talk to you…..and Demons Souls is awaiting to ambush you in the shadows.
😀
Errrm… I am sure I said "personally" on that, didn't I? As I mentioned, LOTS of great games came out this console generation. I just singled out Uncharted as I personally think that it gets most gamers psyched about it (i.e. fans talking/raving, xbots scoffing, among others).
But hey, I know that LittleBigPlanet and Demon's Souls deserve as much praise. I'd also put Heavy Rain on that list. And Infamous too. Damn, it's hard to be spoiled with great games!
The smiley should of indicated at a tongue in cheek comment, not a debate.
😀
That looked great, in a little under a year from now I'm sure it'll look fantastic.

Yep! I to myself i wouldnt watch any footage but they are my fav. Games i had too! Loved it, looks great! The cqb looked amazing!
Indeed it looks good. As you say Ben, we should stop applying the pressure. I think there needs to be a 9 month moratorium on Uncharted 3 so that ND can get their heads down and finish and polish this gem without the pressure and hype that have hurt other games.
Well, let's not get too crazy, it would be nice to get some sort of an update at E3 in June. We already know they have one level playable, with awesome fire effects to boot too!
No pressure but I welcome the hype. If any IP is worthy of such hype it is Uncharted. How many games are hyped into oblivion and suck like black holes. Yet they make crazy money. If Sony went all out at least they could back it up with the production levels in this game. How many games can make that a reality. Just slow down the game details so I can be surprised but step up the advertising on this one Sony. You can get away with it. I want Uncharted and Naughty Dog to get the sales it deserves.
I love ND, I love Uncharted series but seeing as people over hype things way out of proportions, for example GT5, great game deserving of the hype but not everbody would agree with me becuase it was hyped to be the secound coming of Jesus, which it wasn't, it was supposed to deliver best racing simulator, which it did, but anyway, I don't want this to end up like GT5 in the Media so I think ND should keep wraps for a little while, or until near the games release.
Excellent point. GT5 faced an onslaught of negative criticism. 95% of it unjustified. Uncharted 2 was nearly flawless and it was almost unanimously critically acclaimed. If they pull that negative bullshit with Uncharted 3 without merit there will be war. To an extent I understand why GT5 had a hard time. Not everyone was aware of the Simulator status of the game so the arcade types got their hearts broken by the unforgiving nature that is GT!
There's usually just one game that gets my attention at a time. Next year, I was looking forward to LBP2, then it got replaced by The Last Guardian, then Infamous 2, and Uncharted 3 wins it all for me.

I'm telling u dude buy all them if u can.Especially The Last Guardian(Team Ico is going to blow u away).
Oh… now I'm not sure about U3 being GotY. I completely forgot about The Last Guardian!
Pressure? No, not at all! I'm just expecting the greatest game ever, nothing more!
I'm not a fanboy of anything/anyone, but ND is making it very difficult for me.
Everything I read so far looks good!
Jimmy Fallon aside, that was mind blowing the fire effects alone was impressive, but Drake jumping off the stairs and landing on that guy, are you kidding me?! Binary day is going to be fun next year!
Wait a minute what game was announced the day after the VGA awards?
The confusion with that was that game industry insiders got a PRIVATE invite to an exclusive reveal scheduled for the day after the VGAs and posted it to the public as a reveal of an exclusive. Turns out that U3 was the game to be revealed. The gameplay anyway.
I saw so much activity on the PS blog with this question. Some were irate even. Gamers are addicted! Sony is the pusherman.

Very true but sony did no mention of a public reveal. Emails were sent to gaming sites only and people assumed it was a new game reveal. I blame the news site for hyping it.
Exactly. It was the insiders that got the emais who then posted it to their websites. Never stated Sony did it.
It does look great, I can't wait either, landing on the dude is indeed epic.
I do hope they change the animations of the enemies when they get shot. It's hard to explain what I mean but I don't like the way it looks when they get shot. Probably the only one that feels this way….
Yeah in the first game the enemy animations were way better and they were moving soo much.
And I can't really pinpoint what it is, but when they get shot it's like it's not real or something.
remember this is still an early version of the game. a year is a long time.
I'm so happy they changed the hand to hand combat, and it's not just QTE's anymore (it doesn't seem like it in the trailer).
Gonna love the xbros comments saying who would buy a sequel that barely looks better, oh yeah but when a new GeoW or CoD comes it's going to sell millions!

Ceasing to apply hype in 3…2…1…
Yeah, this game looks pretty good. I'll probably get around to playing it eventually.
I love the footage, but what are those guys doing wasting time on Fallon's show? Get back in the studio and finish it!
…oh wait, "no pressure"….sorry, I forgot.
It's called "publicity".
Am I the only one who totally thought Fallon was playing with a 360 controller at first? LOL! Really threw me off with the white colour!
Anyway, that gameplay looks AMAZING!!! Those fire effects are easily the best I've ever seen in a video game. Hell, they even trump some of the effects I've seen in movies/television. This is the guaranteed 2011 GotY.
Yes, yes you are. I noticed it was a white DuelShock3 immediately.
Would bots confuse the controller and imagine that this game will be on 360? Inquiring minds want to know.
I can see it now. Customer to Gamestop employee. "I want to pre-order Uncharted 3 for the 360." Gamestop employee. "Sure, it will be the better version. That will be $5."
And that's a poopy grade video too.
I think UC's voice acting is unparalled. You really feel like the AI character is alive. In fact, I think the side characters like Sully, Chloe, and Elena are so good that you kind of forget its a game at certain points. On top of that, the seemless integration of the cut scenes is so smooth and slick. I can't wait to play part 3. In fact, I don't even want to see anymore trailers or gameplay. Its like the ultimate tease.

Looking good! =D
Cant wait, Nuff said
Technically impressive!
Now I will wait for shear amazingness. No pressure…
but campaign co-op would be a wonderful addition ND.

How woyld campaign co-op be a good addition? The game strives to much on puzzles, and platforming. The reason why it should not be co-op is because ita not built for co-op. Unlike what they did with uncharted 2 and make an alternate co-op adventure which turned out good because co-op was in mind.
The whole thing is uncharted is built for aingle player and should remain that way. It seems they will indeed be bringing back the co-op alternative play which is welcome. But it really needs to remain that way. We didnt fall in love with the franchise because we could play as elena or sully as awesome as they are.
Thumb me down n not comment? Its the truth… Some games need co-op others dont! Uncharted absolutely deserves to stay a single player effort as far as the main story goes!
That looked amazing!!!
Now I have to find my time machine… I know I put it here somewhere…
well thats OK I got GT5 to keep me busy 🙂
